Biggrin Bakery provides 'cat' where 'cap' should have been on graduation cake

http://www.upi.com/Odd_News/2013/06/...8211371672978/

Published: June 19, 2013 at 4:16 PM

ZIONSVILLE, Ind., June 19 (UPI) -- The latest appearance of cats on the Internet is a cat, instead of a cap, on a graduation cake picture of a recent college graduate in Zionsville, Ind.

Carol Gambrel ordered a cake to celebrate her daughter Laura's graduation from Indiana University, specifying "Congratulations Laura!" to be written in icing and an icing-drawn "cap" on the head of the photograph of Laura she supplied.

The bakery spelled the words correctly but drew a sitting cat where the cap should be, WBBM-TV, Chicago, reported Wednesday.

Although the bakery offered to correct the mistake, the Gambrels said they saw the humor in it, left the cake alone and their photo of the "cat cake" is a viral Internet sensation.

"When I went to pick it up at the store I couldn't stop laughing," Carol Gambrel told ABC's "Good Morning America."

"I told them not to scrape it off," she said.

I have to admit, that is pretty funny.

I'm surprised the cake decorator didn't think about why there would be a cat on her head.

I know what you mean, I would have a yellow tabby cat. I worked in a bakery too and the gal who decorated the cake, if in doubt would call the customer. You would think there would be question of, is it Cat or Cap.

That is pretty funny, and I'm glad the customers thought so too.

Me, too. Think there were some red faces among the employees? Thankfully, the family got a huge kick out of the gaffe so all was well.

The cake turned out much more memorable with the cat on her head!
