The casting was perfect on TAGS and impossible to duplicate, but what actors would play the roles if the show were to be assembled today? I'll start with Jim Carrey for Barney--both actors are masters of facial expressions. Maybe Matthew McClonnehy (spell?) for Andy--he has that southern charm, accent and kind face.
Perhaps Doris Roberts as Aunt Bea--she'd have to tone her acting way down though. Any thoughts? |

What about Goober, Gomer, and Opie???
I have to admit that I'm stumped especially for Opie. Not many red-headed kid actors these days. |
