Movie "Hell Night" (1981) Announcement

From the SCREAM Factory's Facebook

** EXCLUSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT **

Today we can (finally) provide some more concrete updates on our plans for the 1981 horror favorite Hell Night. Here’s what we can divulge at this time:

- The Blu-ray & DVD combo will be branded as a "Collector's Edition" that will come with a slipcover (guaranteed for three months after its original release date)

- The Producer-approved newly-commissioned artwork pictured comes to us from artist Justin Osbourn (Lifeforce, Pumpkinhead, Prince of Darkness).

This art will be front-facing and the reverse side of the wrap will showcase the original theatrical poster art design.

- Extras are still in progress and will be announced sometime in October.

- National U.S. & Canada Release date is set for 12/12/17. If you pre-order now directly from our website it will ship two weeks early plus you’ll receive a FREE exclusive and collectible 18” x 24” rolled poster of the newly-designed key art.

Posters will be made at a limited quantity so secure them now at https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=6465

- As some of you already know, this title was leaked on several retailer sites prematurely before we could make a proper announcement. The reason we couldn’t address it more publicly once that became more widespread is because we were having some technical difficulties.

The title was originally planned for a Late Summer release but needed to be delayed because we became faced with an unforeseen and unwelcome scenario that we could not locate any of the original film elements despite trying many avenues to acquire them.

Fortunately though we were able to access a good archival print and it is from this element that we will be doing a 4K scan of the film (including hours of intensive restoration work) so that we can get it to look the best it possibly can.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We genuinely share your excitement on this particular film (it’s been highly-requested for years) and can’t wait for the final product!

Movie New Releases

From the SCREAM Factory's Facebook

** EXCLUSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT **

The Projected Man (1966)

We’re serving up more chills in the new year. Today we reveal that the 1966 sci-fi thiller The Projected Man will be coming to Blu-ray!

Dr. Paul Steiner and Dr. Christopher Mitchell have created a projection device that can transmit any object within a few miles of their new device. The device works well on inanimate objects, but using it on a living device causes death. When Steiner is accidentally projected, he becomes a disfigured monster who has the ability to kill by electrification.

This first-time-on-home-video release features a new 2K scan of the film's interpositive. Extras are still in progress and will be announced at a later date.

National street date is January 30th. However, if you pre-order now directly through us you can have it shipped 2 weeks early!

https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=6521

Piranha II: The Spawning (1988)

Look what’s swimming to Blu-ray this in 2018.

Piranha II: The Spawning – Director James Cameron’s first feature film from 1981 – will be landing on January 30th in the U.S. and Canada and we have some early details for you today!

• This will be branded as a “Collector’s Edition” that will come with a slipcover (guaranteed for three months after its original release date)

• We are implementing a change of our normal practice regarding the artwork strategy on this one. Normally we would commission a new illustrated piece and then provide the original theatrical poster on the reverse.

In this case, the already-existing illustrated international key art that you see featured here (which was also used for the domestic VHS release) was so pitch perfect and iconic to the film that we felt it would be a challenge to try to improve upon so we made an exception here.

Plus, the theatrical U.S. poster also had a cool design that we wanted to use as well somehow…so that image will be on the reverse.

• Extras and specs are still in progress and will be announced at a later date.

However, we can confirm that we will be doing a brand new HD film transfer (finally presented in its proper aspect ratio) and it is the uncut version that was previously seen on the previous DVD release.

Pre-order now directly from our website to receive the film 2 weeks early from national street date, plus you’ll receive a free collectible 18” x 24” rolled poster reproduction of the front-facing international key art.

Dance Macabre (1992)

Can you ever have too many Robert Englund movies? Today we reveal another genre film he starred in and that will be coming to Blu-ray for the first time next year: 1992’s Dance Macabre.

Michelle Zeitlin stars as Jessica, an American ballerina who reluctantly enrolls in a Russian dance academy, where she meets the charismatic choreographer Anthony (Englund). A dead ringer for Anthony's long dead lover, Jessica becomes Anthony's favorite student – and his personal obsession. But what should be the chance of a lifetime for Jessica becomes a living nightmare, as each of her fellow dancers are brutally murdered.

From Director Greydon Clark (Without Warning, The Return)

Extras are still in progress and will be announced at a later date: National street date is January 23rd.

However, if you pre-order now directly through us you can have it shipped 2 weeks early!

Movie Halloween 2017 New Title Announcements

From the SCREAM Factory's Facebook

** EXCLUSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT **

We've always made a point in the past to announce new upcoming titles on this date and we're doing the same today.

Games (1967)

First up is the cunning psychological film Games from 1967 and directed by Curtis Harrington (What’s the Matter with Helen?, Who Slew Auntie Roo?).

James Caan, Katharine Ross, and Simone Signoret star.

Paul (Caan) and Jennifer (Ross) are a pair of wealthy Upper East Side socialites who like to amuse themselves by playing twisted and occasionally sadistic mind games. But when a mysterious woman (Signoret) shows up at their door and begins to exhibit uncanny psychic abilities, the rules change … and the stakes become higher – and deadlier – than ever before.

All-new HD transfer is planned.

National street date is February 13th. However, you can pre-order now directly through us and have the item ship two weeks early!

https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=6532

Up next is the 1970 sci-fi thriller Colossus: The Forbin Project from 1970!

First time on Blu-ray in the U.S. & Canada and stars Eric Braeden (Y&R) and Susan Clark (Porky’s).

The ultimate computer creates the ultimate terror in this chillingly real suspense tale. When electronics genius Charles Forbin creates a massive computer complex that is capable of independently regulating the national defense of the United States, it appears that no enemy will ever be able to penetrate its sovereign borders.

But such a promising thought turns into a stunning nightmare when it's discovered the Russians have built an equally sophisticated computer and that these two "doomsday machines" have linked, sharing classified information and top secrets. Desperately, Forbin and his Soviet counterparts try to stop the all-knowing "monster" computers from seizing command of the world's nuclear missile stockpiles.

National street date is February 27th and extras are in progress.

However, you can pre-order now directly through us to have the item shipped two weeks early! https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=6536

Barbara Stanwyck and Robert Taylor, re-teaming for their first film following their divorce, star in this intense thriller about a wealthy widow who is haunted by her husband and seduced by a handsome stranger – all in her dreams.

Following the death of her millionaire husband, Howard (Hayden Rorke), Irene Trent (Stanwyck) endures dreams so real and terrifying, that she finds herself trapped in an eerie world existing between fact and fantasy. Isolated from the world by her husband's possessive nature, Irene feels there is no one she can turn to except for his personal attorney (Taylor), the only visitor Howard ever allowed to the house.

But even as her dreams begin to take vivid shape, Irene begins to walk into a very real nightmare of deception, murder and betrayal.

Extras are in progress. National street date is February 20th.

However, pre-order now directly through us to have the item shipped two weeks early. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4514/...cb705cf0_o.jpg

The Gate II (1990)

Now we go into sequel territory with 1990's The Gate II. First time on Blu-ray.

The Gate II picks up again with Terry, the teenage sorcerer who summons beings from the other side whose powers can be used to grant any wish. Unfortunately, before the Gate closes again, a "minion" – a tiny disciple of Satan himself – manages to slip through to our dimension. When the creature is kidnapped – all hell breaks loose.

Many extras are in progress and will be announced at a later date. National street date is February 20th.

Movie "The Night of the Seagulls" Annoucement

From the SCREAM Factory's Facebook

** EXCLUSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT **

We have a new title to announce today coming soon in 2018. The 1975 Spanish horror film The Night of the Seagulls (aka: Don’t Go Out at Night and Terror Beach) will be flocking to Blu-ray on February 13th.

When a doctor and his wife move to a coastal village, they encounter strange and terrifying things: the town harbors an ancient evil that demands ritual sacrifice! For seven consecutive nights, the undead come from the sea to demand the horrific deaths of the town's young women!

Fans of Seagulls know that it is the final film in the cult-film favorite “The Blind Dead” series. The other films in the series have not been released on Blu-ray which would naturally beg the question: Why start with the last installment?

Our best answer is that the licensor that we acquired Seagulls from (which is the same one we got the Paul Naschy films from) only controls Seagulls. At this time, we don’t know who the successor of the first three are but we are looking into in order to bring the whole series out if we can.

You can pre-order now from us and get it shipped 2 weeks early!
