I know some have reversible covers with the original artwork on the reverse side, but none of these new covers seem like a good selling point to me, they for the most part don't feel like film poster art, they feel like covers to crappy movie tie-in comics.

Movie 4-Film DVD Update

From the SCREAM Factory's Facebook:

** IMPORTANT UPDATE **

We’re really sorry about the following news but, unfortunately, the ALL NIGHT HORROR MARATHON release has been delayed from its original 8/20 date and is being overhauled due to unforeseen legal issues on one of the films in the set - Schizoid (1971) – which now has to be removed.

The new street date is 10/8.

Schizoid is being replaced by the classic Debbie Reynolds 1971 shocker What's the Matter with Helen?

The Vagrant, The Outing and The Godsend will stay put on the set as originally planned.

*Note: The Schizoid on the X-ray / Schizoid Blu-ray double feature is from 1980 and is a different film than the film we had on this set.

That double-feature has no issues... and is still planned to be released in August.

Movie Full Info. for "Swamp Thing"

Swamp Thing (1982)
Blu-ray/DVD Combo.
8/6/13

Science Made Him A Monster!

Swamp Thing is the perfect blend of thrills, chills and "winsome humor" (Robert Ebert) from master of horror Wes Craven (A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Last House on the Left, The Hills Have Eyes).

Deep in the Florida everglades, a brilliant scientist, Dr. Alec Holland (Ray Wise), and a sexy government agent, Alice Cable (Adrienne Barbeau), have developed a secret formula that could end world hunger. Little do they know, however, that their arch nemesis, Arcane (Louis Jourdan), is plotting to steal the serum for his own selfish schemes.

Looting the lab and kidnapping Cable, Arcane douses Holland with the chemicals and leaves him for dead. Mutated by his own formula, Holland becomes "Swamp Thing" - a half-human/half-plant superhero who will stop at nothing to rescue Cable and defeat Arcane...even if it costs him his life!

Special Features:

- Audio Commentary with Writer/Director Wes Craven

- Audio Commentary with Makeup Effects Artist Bill Munn

- Interviews with Actress Adrienne Barbeau, Co-Creator Len Wein and Actor Reggie Batts

- Theatrical Trailer

- Photo Galleries

* Due to legal issues, our HD presentation will be the 91 minute original as-seen-in-U.S-theaters cut of the film (the same version MGM has released on DVD since '05) and not the 93 minute "unrated" international version as we had originally hoped for.

Movie "Nightbreed: The Cabal Cut" Announcement

Shout! Factory To Release Director's Cut of Clive Barker's Nightbreed
8/19/2013
by Graeme McMillan

Ever since the movie was originally released, Clive Barker has publicly longed for a restored directors cut of his horror movie Nightbreed.

Next year -- twenty-four years after the movie's original debut -- he'll finally get his wish, with Shout! Factory and Morgan Creek officially announcing today that a fully-restored, re-edited version of the movie will be released digitally and on DVD/Blu-ray in 2014.

"When I made the movie, the studio was not comfortable with [my] inversion of the classic structure," Barker -- who wrote and directed the adaptation of his own novella Cabal more than two decades ago, in which the monsters were the heroes of the piece.

"They wanted the monsters to be simple-minded scare machines, while I wanted them to be the dark side of all of us, mysterious and misunderstood. Finally, with this new version of Nightbreed, which contains over forty five minutes of previously unseen material, my original vision has been realized."

Today's official confirmation of the new version of the movie follows the unofficial news breaking during last month's San Diego Comic-Con. Shout! Factory will be responsible for next year's release, via its Scream Factory label.

The company's founders, Bob Emmer, Richard Foos and Garson Foos, said in a statement accompanying the announcement that they "are huge fans" of Barker and "look forward to working closely with Clive to bring his original vision to life."
