Default Re: Disney Cartoons vs. Hanna-Barbara Cartoons

By Hanna-Barbara, if you mean the original "Jonny Quest" and some of the "Flintsone" episodes, then I would have to say Hanna-Barbara. Otherwise, it has to be Disney all the way.

Disney off course! hanna barbera cartoons are always so boring. Disney makes the good cartoons (series), like Duck Tales, darkwing Duck and Gargoyles.

Cool Time to take Inventory:

Hana-Barbera by far, let's take inventory of their work:

Here is just a sample of their work over the last 40 years, which has led to William Hanna and Joseph Barbera getting a star on the hollywood walk of fame:

1. Tom and Jerry
2. The Flintstones
3. The Jetsons
4. Quick Draw McGraw
5. Yogi Bear
6. Huckleberry Hound
7. Magilla Gorilla
8. Johnny Quest
9. The Adventures of Sinbad
10. Space Ghost
11. Fantastic Four (in association with Marvel Comics)
13. The Banana Splits
14. Scooby Doo Where are you!
15. Jose in the Pussycats
16. The Harlem Globetrotters
17. Hong Kong Phooey
18. Speed Buggy
19. Captain Caveman
20. Super Friends
21. The Wacky Races

There are many others that are not listed here, I just wanted to throw in all of the classics that I grew up watching as a child.

Hanna - Barbara.
I love especially Josie & The Pussycats,Scooby Doo,Huckleberry
Hound,The Flintstones and The Jetsons.
btw:It be interesting what the outcome would be if you added
Warner Brothers Cartoons to the mix(Looney Tunes,Merrie Melodies).

Cool The Wacky Races

The Wacky Races, was Hanna-Barbera's answer to the Indy 500, however it was a race around the world.

I really liked the Wacky Races, which featured Dick Dastardly and his dog Muttley. That cartoon was hilarious because Dick Dastardly would always cheat in the race, he did everything from taking unauthorized shortcuts to trying to destroy the other racers. But it would always backfire on him.

What a funny cartoon, I don't know if the cartoon network shows this particular cartoon. For those of you who have never seen this cartoon, it is definitely a gem!

For those of you who were too young to remember this series, go to this site:

Default Hanna-Barbera's humble start

William (Bill) Hanna was born in New Mexico, in 1910. Working for new animation company, Harman-Ising Studios, he traced and painted cells, and later began composing lyrics and music for Warner Brothers' Looney Toons and Merrie Melodies shorts.

Born in New York in 1911, Joe Barbera started work in a bank aged 16, but moonlighted by selling cartoon illustrations.

This enabled him to gain employment with the burgeoning Fleischer Studios where he worked on Betty Boop and Popeye. He also reportedly earned a dollar per gag on Popeye (created in 1929)!

Leaving Fleischer Studios, Joe eventually wound up at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) where he met Bill in 1939.

I vote for Hanna Barbara out of the two. But I think Warner Bros. (i.e. Bugs Bunny) kicks over both.

I loved Warner Brothers as a kid too.

In fact I was raised on Bugs Bunny and Hana-Barbera cartoons, however, I think that Hanna Barbera had more different types of cartoons which it developed. WB pretty much kept to the same theme, but they did it very very well.

The one thing no-one can argue with is that the three,Disney,
Warner Brothers and Hanna Barbera between them came up with
the majority of the world's best known and loved cartoon characters from Mickey Mouse to Bugs Bunny to Scooby Doo.
