My favorite character is Laura. That shouldn't come as a surprise, given what a big Mary fan I am!! LOL

Although I am an MTM fan, and I feel like a traitor now, I voted for Rob. I know DVD said that he didn't think he was the star of the show,I think he is and it's only right that I vote for him.

There can be no more wonderful, interesting nor beautiful person in all of sitcom history than Laura Petrie. She reigns supreme. If Carl Reiner were God, he would have created the perfect woman.

I love MTM too on the DVD show--and it is a great ensemble series, with wonderful actors in every role, but no one was more essential to the success of the DVD show than--Dick Van Dyke. He is funny, cerebral, charming, witty, and the best physical comedian who ever worked on tv. The man could do anything. I know DVD wouldn't care if most people think Laura is the favorite person on his show--he always shared the spotlight--and he is truly a classy man. But for me, without Rob Petrie and Dick Van Dyke playing him--you don't have a show. For instance, lets pretend that we have the same cast except for DVD and Carl Reiner is playing Rob (as he did in the pilot--Head of the Family) or Johnny Carson had been selected (he was one of the finalist for the role)--They would have been good in a different way, but I very much doubt we would be here talking about a classic series nearly 40 years after it went off the air.
