Thumbs down I Gotta Admit, I Am No Longer A Fan Of Lois on 'Family Guy'

The character just makes me squirm lately. I am not sure if Seth Macfarlane & Alex Borstein wanted the character to be despicable, but she is now and that is saying something considering this is Family Guy we are talking about. LOL

I mean she cheated on Peter at least twice that I can remember, she also treats Meg like crap. The earlier episodes, she had a more redeeming quality. At the very least a loving Mom and wife. Now she is no better than Quagmire. She certainly evolved into a bad character.

Well, while likeability was never a HUGE part of the FG show, I would agree and go a bit further, Brian. I'd say the whole cast has gotten a lot LESS likeable than they were in the beginning. Even the 'voice of reason' Brian has become a womanizing, superficial jerk in the last few years, barely better than Quagmire.

It's another reason why I don't care if I miss a new episode. I realize that the show is a broadly made spoof of situation comedies, but once I actively dislike all the characters on a show I have no emotional investment at all and I feel no need to keep tuning in.

That's a good point retro, I mean I still like Peter and Stewie mostly, but why do i get the feeling Seth really wants you to hate these characters? Almost like he wants you to tune away so he can kill this show.

That's an interesting theory. I have heard that McFarlane is only continuing the show because the fans want him to, and that he personally thinks the show should have already ended. So maybe this is a passive aggressive way of getting people to not care if the show ends??

That's what I have been thinking lately. Lois has become the worst, followed by Quagmire (who doesn't even seem to be a real friend to Peter anymore) and Brian the dog has gotten worse and worse as well.

True, but it seems that it has gotten worse with time.

True...I still like Brian, but I hate Quagmire more and more...not because of his feud toward Brian but he's just a whore, more whoreish than Lois, even though she's a MILF!

I'm a dork and I've listened to many of the commentaries on the Family Guy DVD's. I remember hearing once that the staff seemed to get more laughs as they made Lois more of a b*tch, so they kind of went with that. I always got the impression that it was more funny to them than the actual viewers. I still think Peter treats Meg worse than Lois. Grabbing your daughter and farting in her face is about as low as you can go. I liked it better in the old days when the family treated Meg bad once in a while, not every time she speaks like today.

Count me in with those who say Quagmire has pretty much hit rock bottom. I liked it better when he was a man whore who was always making dirty jokes but was still nice. The last couple years, he seems to be yelling at anybody and is always angry about something.

Brian has gone downhill as well, though not as bad as Quagmire. He's got to be the most sanctimonious animated character who ever lived. Sometimes I enjoy him, other times I want to flip the channel.

Lois is the biggest whore on television and I wouldn't call her a MILF. I miss when she had some redeeming qualities but flushing them down the toilet was just wrong. Brian is a bigger man whore than Quagmire. He has lied, cheated and hurted women and that wasn't in his nature. He has become the new Quagmire. At least Glen was honest in his rant against Brian and I still enjoy watching it.

^ It's been heavily implied that Quagmire is not above date rape, something that Brian would never do.
