Default Are the S1 & S2 colorized sets edited for time?

I read on some of the Amazon customer reviews that the season 1 colorized DVD of Bewitched are the time-edited, syndicated shows and that the original B&W DVD are full, un-edited episodes. Luckily I bought season 1 in B&W.

However, what about season 2 colorized DVD set? Are these episodes also the time-edited/syndicated episodes? I bought season 2 in color because it was all I could find at the store at the time but if these are time-edited, I may need to order season 2 in B&W in order to see the full episodes.

Can anyone comment on this? Thanks.

I have the season one colorized set which I purchased new in 2005. The episodes on my set are all full-length, uncut and not time-compressed. The only omission is the "dancing sticks" Screen Gems logo. The color is really quite lovely.

I would never buy anything that's been colorized, if a show was made in black and white, that's how it's meant to be seen. One exception I can think of though is Hazel, that is a show that should have been in color from the beginning. That 1st season of Hazel looks sort of drab in black and white, they did make one 1st season episode in color and when watching it, wow what a difference the color makes.

I actually felt the same as you when I heard that they were going to issue Bewitched in two versions, color and bw. I came home from work one evening in early 2005 when Me-TV was just getting underway locally in Chicago. They were running the 1st season of Bewitched in bw. I tuned in and saw what I initially thought was a later color episode but it turned out to be the one where Samantha tries on a black wig to "spice up" her marriage. Somehow this and a handful of other bw eps. were being shown colorized. I thought the color was far better than the old, hideous jobs of the 1980s. I decided then and there to buy the color set.

They might have made some improvements in colorization since the 1980's, but I think the first two seasons of Bewitched are better seen in the original black and white, as the first season of I Dream Of Jeannie is also better seen in the original black and white. The black and white picture matches the style in which those episodes were made. When Bewitched went to color in season 3, and I Dream Of Jeannie in season 2, the switch to color resulted in the zaniness of the comedy being amped up a bit, especially in the case of I Dream Of Jeannie which before it was done resembled a live action cartoon.
