Here in New York City, it's not a new year without WPIX's Honeymooner's Blowout marathon. If you're unfamilar with WPIX, it's the tri-state's local CW affiliate (channel 11), but most sateillite dishes across the country also carry the station! Each year when the ball drops at midnight, WPIX starts off the new year right with an all-night/all New Year's Day marathon of the classic '50s sitcom, one that remains one of television's finest treasures. Unfortunately this year, WPIX has decided to air 38 of the classic 39 episodes in order, rather than how they've always done it by showing the most famous of those 39 episodes near the end of New Year's Day when most people are watching, and this year, the marathon starts tonight at 11pm rather than after the ball drops at 12! As a result, some of the best of the 39 are airing overnight, and that means having to DVR, Tivo, or record some of them to watch later. With that in mind, I thought I'd take this time to highlight what I believe to be the ten best episodes of the series, the ones that I would most recommend watching! It should be noted that these aren't in any particular order of favoritism, but rather in order of when they originally aired. Please, if you haven't in the past, and you're able to watch WPIX, tune into some of these episodes! Comedy has rarely been better than this!
Find out which ten I've chosen here! Will you be watching? Which are your favorites? |

Why not just post the top 10 here instead of making us go to your blog?

Looks like PIX used the same master reels that were used for the DVD's. "The Sleepwalker" had the same 1950 grainy scene. Still no clue as to what that 1 scene is like this.
