One of the most high-profile, and high-stakes, new dramas of the fall season is at risk, and it may have less to do with ratings than with the high cost of producing the show.
The show is Fox’s dinosaur series "Terra Nova," whose production company is lobbying against cancellation, reports the Los Angeles Times' Company Town blog. Fox ordered 13 episodes, and the final one will air Dec. 19, prompting 20th Century Fox Television to start lobbying for a second season, the story says. The show is averaging almost 10 million viewers, and ranks as the top new drama among male viewers, the piece adds. But the sticking point may be the cost of the program, which is one of the most expensive in TV history, the story points out. http://www.tvweek.com/blogs/tvbizwire/
