'The Playboy Club' Still Filming Episodes Despite Being Canceled
Hours after his show was canceled by NBC, The Playboy Club‘s Eddie Cibrian was admitted to Northwestern Memorial Hospital after injuring his right heel while filming on the Chicago set, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Cibrian was reportedly running down an alley when he suffered a deep gash on his heel after it got stuck underneath a steel door.
Though the drama was canceled after only three episodes, filming has continued with the hope that the series can find a new home. http://insidetv.ew.com/

I'm glad it got cancelled. I only watched it to see just how much they would try to rip off from Mad Men. This show couldn't touch Mad Men with a 10-foot pole. There isn't enough talent.
You know what this show reminded me of? A 1980's prime-time soap. (Ala Falcon Crest, Dynasty, etc.....except Falcon Crest and Dynasty had better overall writing.) At least soaps build the characters and the storylines. This does not. It was just so surface and contrived. The characters are very one-dimensional. Oh yeah...they had their "back stories" but one-dimensional nonetheless. Just like episode the other night. Nick is "dating" a wealthy heiress to help his political career and his controlling girlfriend was going along with it? And what was up with the lesbian vibe the wealthy heiress was giving off when she met that blonde bunny who killed the mobster? Seriously? LOL! Were they really going to go down that road? ![]() |
