Default Regarding last episode...

Hi everyone. First time to this thead. I'm a big fan of Happy Days. Heart was broken when Mr. C passed away. I was on Youtube a few days ago. Spent a couple of days going through the Happy Days episodes, bloopers, reunions, etc. I had forgotten how much I really loved that show.

I know this question has probably been asked way too many times, but humor me. After all these years, I never did find out why Anson and Don didn't show up for that last episode. I can't imagine it could have been a 'scheduling' thing. They would have known months in advance about the final episode. So what happened? It just wasn't the same without the both of them there.

Also, did everyone on that set really get along as well as everyone thinks, or were there the usual personality conflicts? They sure looked like they all got along, which is very rare.

For instance, regarding the show MASH, I had heard from quite a few people that Radar (Gary Burghoff) was just about impossible to get along with.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any answers.

Yeah, it was weird that they weren't there. Donny just wanted to move on, I'd imagine, but Anson's absence isn't easily explained since he appeared in most of the last season anyhow. I'd always assumed that (since I only saw the episode in syndication) he had a brief scene that got edited out, but apparently not.

As for the rest, there's a reason David L. Lander called them "the Stepford show". Erin Moran made some bizarre accusations once, but she apparently recanted some time ago. I'd imagine that there were minor squabbles here and there, but thus far no one's come forward with anything particularly salacious.

I remember reading somewhere on this board that Most wasn't asked to be in the finale. Not sure about Williams.

Not really. He was only in five episodes.

I always was kind of surprised that the last words uttered on the show were by Tom Bosley and not Ron Howard or Henry Winkler. I did love Howard's speech/toast, though. Too sweet.

^ I found it funny that he made the comment about "both" of their children now being married without mentioning Chuck. Talk about being erased out of existence.
