Default What kind of Bible do you read?

I have never used any Bible other then the original King James version. When I first started reading it, I thought I was learning nothing, because I understood so little of it, or so I thought. Over the last month or so, Iv'e been speaking of the Bible, and saying things that I thought I would never know. Just because it doesn't seem like we understand, we actually do, and God will reveal all that you read in due time. I'm proof of that.

Cool

I use the NIV (New International Version) because it is easier for me to understand than King James. Although I do prefer King James for memorizing Bible verses.

I'll read any translation, but my favorite translation would be NIV.

NIV is the one I usually read. I do have a KJV, and would like to try reading it from start to finish.

That's awesome Monika, I strongly encourage you to do that. I have read it three times, and it was actually quite easy. Most people think it's some impossible task, but in reality, you can finish it in less than a year, just by reading four pages per day. First time I read it, I purposely waited until Christmas Day to finish. I thought that would be the perfect Birthday gift for my Lord, and Saviour.

I actually received a more modern Bible from Pat Robertson when I gave to them. It was called The Book. I started reading it, and it just wasn't the same. I like the old school style of writing.

Most different translations have their strengths, but in my personal time, I like to use the New Living Translation (NLT). The NLT, to me, makes the Bible really come alive for me in its translation. I also use the NIV and New American Standard.

I read NIV as well. I need to get another King James Version. I like to have that on standby. I also use my blackberry phone in church sometimes to look up scriptures.
