Thought Roseanne Barr Admits She Was Very Difficult to Work With On Her Hit Sitcom 'Roseanne'

Roseanne Barr has admitted she was difficult to work with on the set of 'Roseanne,' but she was also right about its potential as a hit show. She talked to David Letterman on 'Late Show' (Weeknights, 11:37PM ET on CBS) about the "hit list" she compiled of naysayers who didn't believe in the show early in its run.

Barr said of the list, "When this show goes to number one, these are the people who's a**** are gonna be canned." She was proven correct right away as the first season wrapped at number two, and the show hit number one in its second year. As for the people on her list?

"The show went to number one and a year later they were all gone and it was just fantastic!" she said.

But things weren't always rosy on the set, which Barr acknowledges now. "I had a short temper, let's just put it that way. Kind of a short fuse, you know," she said. But George Clooney, who was a part of the cast for one season, had no fear of her wrath. He even did an impression of her on the set.

He'd have her firing people and then rehiring them with a raise as part of her bipolar control issues. We'd imagine Clooney's charm and likability, as well as good looks on camera, probably went a long way in him getting away with these shenanigans. Either that, or he knew when he could get away with it based on her moods.

I heard this same thing as well from a couple different sources that Roseasnne was quite difficult to work with. However, I also heard that a lot of the producers fought her on many of the topics/subjects she wanted to present on the show. Of course there was the matter as well that a few of the writers wouldn't do things according to what she wanted in the script so she fired them. Not that I blame her the show was about her after all so she was going to do whatever she could to make the show as great as possible. In the end it was a really good thing she fought as hard as she did to get the stories because if she hadn't we wouldn't have some of the greatest ground-breaking episodes in the series without her. If she hadn't Roseanne probably would be the legend she is today.

I don't know why people have to act like that. I've herd other people threw their weight around too on other shows.
