This is Justin Waller. How did Telma Hopkins get the television series Getting By? How did she get the role?

"Getting By" was from the same producers as "Family Matters". I believed they and the network liked Telma's performance in "Family Matters", and decided to develop a show for her.

1. So.. could you say it was a spin-off? Was there any cross-overs?

2. How did the show do?

3. What channel did/does it air on?

Getting By was not a spin-off because Telma Hopkins played a diffrent charatcer than the one she played on Family Matters. The show only lasted 1 or 2 seasons, so as far as I know it probally isn't aired much on tv.

"Getting By" originally had a spring tryout on ABC. They cancelled it, and NBC picked it up for a second season. Reruns have aired recently on Goodlife TV.
