I dont think a season 12 would have worked. I thought the show was becoming stale as the series was going on. I mean the mystique of the Fonz was gone. Richie was gone. Joanie and Chacai, there together, there not together, there off the show, there on the show and finally they get married. I dont know what else you could've done.

How come nobody in the Happy Days forum mentioned a.k.a. Pablo?

A.K.A. Pablo was a sitcom that ran for six episodes in March and April of 1984. Happy Days was pulled from the ABC schedule to make room for it. A.k.a. Pablo was about a struggling Hispanic stand-up comic and his large Mexican-American family. It starred some guy named Paul Rodriguez and was produced by Norman Lear, and its production company was Embassy Television. A.k.a. Pablo was controversial, being deemed offensive to many members of the Hispanic and Latino community, and it ended up being cancelled after six weeks. Just like Just Our Luck from the first half of the 1983-84 TV season, a.k.a. Pablo was a megabomb.

The airing of A.K.A. Pablo resulted in five episodes of Happy Days's 11th and final season being burned off during the summer of 1984. Four of those episodes aired in the weeks leading up to the Los Angeles Summer Olympics, and the fifth of those episodes aired after the Olympics in late September of 1984 — at the very start of the 1984-85 TV season.

Yeah but Fonzie was old enough to move out on his own. I would have liked to have seen Fonzie at his new place, Kahuna Village.

I remember watching AKA Pablo. The father didn't want his son to be a comic because of what happened to Freddy Prinze. From there there was no where else for the series to go so it was cancelled.

I also remember watching that episode when his family discouraged him from becoming a stand up comic because the didn't want Paul to be like Freddie Prinze. It was one of the lowlights of Norman Lear's sitcom career since the show was cancelled after six episodes.

I think they only way season 12 would have worked is they built on what they started in season 10 or somethings similar: introduce new characters not bogged down by getting older and start from High School years again.
Might be an odd comparison but Saved the Bell is a great example.
SBTB: The College years with most of the original cast tanked. Saved The Bell: The New Class despite seemingly constant cast changes went back to High School with familiar sets and had a 7 season run surpassing the 4 seasons of the original.
