A shocking new Newsweek/Daily Beast poll finds billionaire real estate mogul Donald Trump a mere 2 points behind President Barack Obama in a hypothetical 2012 head-to-head match-up.
Obama had the support of 43 percent of the public, to Trump's 41 percent -- within the poll's +/-3.5 percent margin of error. The president led Republican 2012 hopefuls and former governors Sarah Palin by 11 points (51-40), Mitt Romney by 2 points (49-47), and was tied with Mike Huckabee (46-46). The result could be an outlier as Obama held a 14 point lead over Trump (48-34) in a recent survey by Public Policy Polling. It found that Trump had a national approval rating of only 27 percent; 56 percent disapproved. Trump, who is no serious analyst's idea of a viable Republican nominee or presidential contender, has been floated as a dark-horse candidate. The reality television star and media magnate entertained the idea by making a speech this month at the Conservative Political Action Conference, in which one media outlet said he "stole the show." But will that motivate him to run? "I'm incredibly tempted," he said, according to Bloomberg news. An online petition has sprung up to "Draft Trump" for president in 2012. It probably won't help Trump with the Republican base that he was a vociferous critic of President George W. Bush and has described himself as more of a Democrat. "I probably identify more as a Democrat," Trump told CNN's Wolf Blitzer in 2004. “It just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans." According to the Daily Beast, the poll "was conducted with a representative sample of the national population with 918 likely voters" between Feb. 12 and Feb. 15. Mr. Trump has said his announcement to run or not will come by June. |

In a word, no. The GOP needs a strong family values nominee. That's not Mr. Trump.

I cant believe there are people out there that think Trump would make a good president. He has not political nor millitary experience. No experience on forgein policy. He is just rich. Frankly I find the man to be amoral, sneaky, and very untrustworthy (which means he is perfect for Washington LOL).
Seriously though, I hope this guy just sticks to his really bad TV show. |

I don't think that Trump would be my ideal candidate, but if it was a choice between Trump and Obama, I would vote for Trump in a heartbeat. I hope and pray that Huckabee decides to run.

Bill Cosby on Donald Trump's Presidential Bid: "He's Full of It" Apr 7, 2011 12:44 PM ET by Adam Bryant At least one person won't check Donald Trump's name if the Celebrity Apprentice host should actually make it onto a presidential ballot: Bill Cosby. Donald Trump's birth certificate stunt backfires Cosby appeared on the Today show Wednesday morning to tout his own efforts to further education in lower income urban areas. When Meredith Vieira asked the comedian and former TV star his thoughts about Trump's political aspirations, Cosby said Trump is "full of it." Cosby later elaborated that he's frustrated by Trump's back-and-forth attitude about the possible 2012 presidential run. "You run or shut up," Cosby said. "Look, people have run for president for any reason. Come on, open your mouth — run!" Trump has said he will wait for the current season of Celebrity Apprentice to end before he makes any official announcement, in keeping with election law. If he made a formal move now, NBC would have to stop airing the show. In any case, before Cosby's appearance, Today aired Vieira's taped interview with Trump, during which the New York real estate mogul again discussed President Barack Obama's birth certificate, what Trump thinks of other Republican politicians and his feelings about the wars in the Middle East. In short, Trump suggested that America should devote all of its focus on Iran and remove troops from Afghanistan. "There's nobody more militaristic than me, but it's also called attack the right target," Trump said. "Iran is going to take over Iraq, because we have de-neutered Iraq, you know that, in terms of their military. ... They're going take over the oil fields. ... And if that's going to happen, I say we take over the oil fields ... I would take over the oil fields, because otherwise, Iran is going to take over the second-biggest oil fields in the world. I would absolutely, without question, not leave that section of that country. I would take the oil. To the victor belong the spoils. " Trump also said that battles should not be fought with soldiers on the ground. "I don't believe in foot soldiers. They get blown up on streets," Trump said. "But I do believe in airplanes that are 50,000 feet up. And when we see through intelligence what's going on, knock the hell out. ... I'm not going to have soldiers walking down on the street and get blown up and get shot at by snipers and killed. ... I do it through the air, and we're not going to have casualties." |

Cosby's become very cranky in his old age. As for Trump, we could do a lot worse. Maybe someone who's not a politician would be a good thing. Trump would surround himself with super smart people. He's fearless, can't be bought, loves our country and is extremely smart. Obama knew nothing and got the job. Look where that got us.
