Default Now on Netflix!!!

I didn't think it would ever happen, but I'll be damned, the impossible did. The Wonder Years is now on Netflix Watch Instantly! Apparently this is a multi-year deal as well, so the episodes shouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon.

If these episodes are uncut with all of the original music intact, this will pretty much be the next best thing to a DVD release loaded with special features.

I can't seem to find an idea of when it will be available. I checked Netflix yesterday and nothing yet. Hopefully soon!

I keep checking every day and still nothing. I'm pretty upset. This news came officially from a Netflix press release, so at least the first season should be available to stream now. The other shows(like glee and sons of anarchy) that were also announced as part of the deal with Fox are streaming now, so I want to know where TWY is. Not cool Netflix.

Well, I guess that was yet another no go. I don't know if it was just an April Fools prank or what. Either way, I'm mighty pissed at Netflix for flat out lying like that. Not cool at all.

Sorry for even making the OP guys.

Yes! I can stand corrected now(thankfully)! Even though it took them 6 frickin' months after the announcement to get it on there, at least it's there. The loss of the original Joe Crocker theme is disappointing, but I can deal with it. I suspect the long hold up was due to licensing issues around that song.

Has anyone noticed any other changes in the music though? I'm hoping the rest of the music is intact.

Either way, let's rejoice! This is probably the best we're ever going to get, as I've completely given up any DVD/Blu-ray release ever happening.

I would imagine this is not the only music change.

Well, it might just be. I've watched the first 2 episodes thus far and all of the original music was there. So that's a good sign. The episodes are also completely uncut and DVD quality.

For those of you haven't watched an episode yet, do be prepared for the new theme music. It's terrible. Just some lame cover band with some guy trying to sound like Joe Crocker but failing miserably.

Yes, the replacement theme song is horrendous. I can't stand it. Anyway, I haven't really checked at all for other music replacements, but I did notice on episode 4 of season 1 (Angel) that the Jimi Hendrix song that Karen is rocking out to at the beginning of the episode has been replaced by some generic guitar tune. So, no, the theme song isn't the only replacement. Still, it isn't nearly as bad as it could have been.
