Confused Did Victor Buono Die During "Taxi's" Sitcom Run???

I know Victor Buono played Reverend Jim Ignatowski's millionaire father on Taxi. I remember one episode where the dad passed away and Reverend Jim played a sad song in remembrance of his father. Did he die in real life around the time of that taping???

He died on January 1st, 1982. I've never seen Taxi so I have no idea when the episode was filmed.

Cool

Taxi was on the air from 1978 -1983 so yes Victor Buono died during Taxi's run.

I think he was only a year or so older than his "son", Christopher Lloyd, in real life.

Buono belonged to that great group of actors that also included Yvonne Craig who appeared on 77 Sunset Strip, and then moved on to Batman.

I'm easily older now (46) than Victor was when he died. He was about a month away from turning 44 (Feb 3 1938-Jan 1 1982). A really effective actor.

Smile

IMDB states the episode in question aired on October of 1982, so he did in fact pass away before that ep. Thanks for everybody's assistance.
