13 years ago today...

Today, February 1, 2001, I honor someone who, for some, either made us laugh, cry, or
somewhere in between, but always made me feel like I wanted to protect her...Heather Michele O'Rourke (She played Heather on HD from 82-83) Although she was on Happy Days, most people remember her fondly as Carol Anne Freeling, the young girl stuck between this world and the next in Poltergeist (1982). Heather never got a chance to see her 13th birthday on December 27th, 1988. She didn't even see her final film,Poltergeist III (1988) premiere on June 10, 1988. And, sadly, she never got to become a major star. A simple operation could have saved her life from intestinal stenosis, but, the operation was done too late. On Monday, February 1st, 1988, at exactly 2:43 p.m., PST, Heather died. She was only 12. Of course, she will rest in peace, and I hope that, despite her short life, she is still remembered by fans.

What is intestinal stenosis anyway?

If you ever saw CHiPs, you should have seen Heather guest star on it. She was picked up by a total stranger whose daughter died when she was 7. Also Heather drew a # of pictures of Bruce. The defining moment has to be when Heather was hugging Bruce in his arms and Bruce picked her up.
