I had something strange happen a little bit ago.
I was eating fruit snacks (gummies) and I heard a cracking noise. I think a tooth cracked. I'm not certain. I believe the tooth is one that has a filling in it. I'm scheduled to go to the dentist Saturday. The tooth feels weird and there's discomfort. I wonder if I should try to get into the dentist sooner. It's strange that would happen eating something soft. I'm a little afraid to eat anything now.

It wouldn't hurt to call your dentist and try to get in earlier if you're worried. Especially if you're noticing that your tooth feels weird. As for the gummies while they might be soft they probably were sticky. I popped an onlay completely out from eating a Starburst before. If you are worried about eating, try to remember to chew on the other side of your mouth.

You may have removed a filling. A Gummi Bear is just the candy for that. I have to be very careful with candy.

Thanks Sara and Janice.
I went to my dentist appointment this morning. It turns out that the lower right back tooth is chipped/cracked. I will have to get a filling for it. At some point I may have to get a crown put on it. I have to go in Monday afternoon and have the tooth drilled. I'm dreading it. |
