None of the Norman Lear shows would have worked today. The networks are all terrified of controversy. It's hard to say which shows would have worked today. I feel like there aren't too many that would. All shows were created and aired during a different time and place in society. Society has changed and evolved so much over the years that I just don't think the special qualities that each of these shows had could be recreated. I think this is the main reason so many of the remakes have flopped. You just can't recreate the past.
