Cool Tom Selleck wants 'Magnum' return

Tom Selleck has said that he is hoping to reprise his role as Magnum, PI in a movie.

The 65-year-old revealed that he has not been asked to join a rumoured Magnum film, but he wishes to be involved in a big screen revival of the 1980s series.

"I played him once, you know, and I’m prepared to play him again. They have to call and write and be nice," the Daily Express quotes him as saying.

The actor played the titular role on the show from 1980 to 1988. Rumors of a movie spinoff starring Matthew McConaughey as Magnum surfaced in 2007.

Selleck also said that he enjoys talking about the programme and the character with fans.

“People would sometimes apologise to me when they’d bring up my Magnum role but I don’t mind. It was a part of my life and I’m very proud of how it holds up,” he said.

He added: "OK, maybe the shorts were a little too tight."

Heck, he should play the lead in a big-screen Magnum movie. He could still pull it off!!!!

Larry and Roger would have to be in it too. I'm not sure how John Hillerman is doing health wise but I would love see him in it also.
