1-In some of the latter(I think last season 1965-1966)episodes of "The Donna Reed Show",they used music that would later be used in the Dick Sargent as Darrin episodes of "Bewitched"(I think it was the last season of "Bewitched").Did anyone else notice this? 2)Why did Shelley Fabares leave the series? 3)And finally, did Paul Petersen ever sing his OTHER hit "She Can't Find Her Keys"(#19 in 1962)on the series?

Havent seen the latter episodes in over 15 years so I cant say.
I think in the last season (or second to last season), Jeff and his friends put together a band, and Paul Petersen sanged lead. |

...wanted to move on after the fifth season. So, in the 1963-'64 season, Donna and Alex adopted a younger girl (played by Paul Petersen's sister Patty), while Mary Stone went to "college"...and was virtually never seen again.

Shelley Fabares did indeed leave "The Donna Reed Show" after the Fifth Season, but made periodic Guest Appearances during the Sixth and Seventh Seasons. One of the Guest Appearances she had made during the Sixth Season entitled, "Mary Comes Home" becomes very intense, where she has a serious confrontation with her brother Jeff. It is a very dramatic scene indeed which occurs between Jeff and Mary that was nothing like the sibling rivalry that took place between them in Seasons 1 through 5.

That seems realistic to me. When you get older, your agruments with your siblings can become a little more intense. I always liked the relationship between Jeff and Mary and would some day like to see that episode.

I remember seeing the series on NICK AT NIGHT and toward the end of the series Jeff and his friend Smitty form a group with the record company called Egarag records . Garage spelled backward and I think sang a song. All I remember is the Egarag record term. |
