Confused Can Somebody Tell Me What Schmiel, schmozzle Means?

Of course it is in the beginning of the Laverne & Shirley Theme Song. Just curious if it has any meaning?

schle·miel also shle·miel (shl-ml)
n. Slang
A habitual bungler; a dolt.

schli·ma·zel also shli·ma·zel (shl-mäzl)
n. Slang
An extremely unlucky or inept person; a habitual failure.

They are derived from Hebrew, I believe.

I've heard the explanation a few times from Cindy, but I don't remember the story exactly. Most recently I heard both Cindy & Eddie explain it on a local radio station when they were here doing a play, but the podcast has since been removed. I don't remember if it was Garry or someone else from the show who used to do it as kids, but whoever it was, they thought it was a good idea to use for the theme song.

Cool

Schlemiel and schlimazel are yiddish words meaning a dolt and a failure. The whole "poem" is a nonsense poem that young children say while skipping rope or playing hopscotch. This particular nonsense poem is one Penny Marshall remembered from her childhood in the Bronx.
