yes it is Tara. And that wasn't the first time something like that's happened to me, I've had people pay for me in restaurants and stores go before them in lines, a restaurant even gave me a free meal once!

Default September 2008

Seven years ago this month (September 12, 2008) Hurricane Ike hit Texas. After evacuating, my family and I returned home a few days later, and 12 days after the storm I was able to let people know I was ok. A few weeks after the hurricane hit, we adopted a kitten that had been rescued. He was taken to Petsmart and was among the animals that were available for adoption through BARC.

There was this black and white kitten (tuxedo). He was so small. He was six pounds. He was so cute! We had to wait three days to bring him home. We named him Romeo. Once we got him home he became part of my family. He's so sweet. He loves the one on one attention he gets from me.

Default Family Ties

I went to dinner yesterday with my mother and sister. We went to a Mexican restaurant that's close to here. On one of the televisions there they were showing an episode of Family Ties. I couldn't see it and they had the sound off. Apparently they had closed captioning turned on. My mother mentioned that the Family show was on. She told me the one with MJF. I said Family Ties. She knows that's my favorite show. lol. I wonder which episode was on yesterday.

I asked my sister if she remembered me showing her a few of the Family Ties episodes when she and my mother used to live where I do. She said not really. I asked her if she remembered watching Back To The Future movie with me. She didn't. My mother said I would watch anything Michael J. Fox was in. My mother said I liked him. I told her back in the day he was cute. Unfortunately with age and his Parkinson's Disease he doesn't look like he used to in the 1980's. That's understandable. I did say that there are some movies MJF has been in that I haven't seen and not interested in.

On Antenna - Eps. from season 6 -

Dream date - Jennifer goes to the sophomore dance with a nerdy guy who has a crush on her so she can meet a guy that she likes! Funny ep.

Super Mom- Elyse is putting in long hours at her architectural job and feels like maybe she should be spending more time with the family, after a mix up on who will pick Andy up from school!

I LOVE Jennifer's hair in this season. Her perm ROCKS!!! I had long wild perms in the 80's! Mine was tighter curls than Jennifer's but on that line!! I kind of miss that. But it's so much work to keep it healthy and not dried out and damaged looking ! And when it would start growing out and the bottom was still looking good but the top was all straight was a pain in the butt!

After the insanity that most people had this morning trying to get Adele tickets, I was able to get two floor seats. I look forward to the show.

after my p.t. yesterday I went up to the Dunkin Donuts and got some hot chocolate. As I was going through the parking lot (it's located just outside of a shopping center) I passed a woman getting out of her car and she asked me if I wanted a blanket to put across my lap because it was so cold (I said no).
Then I went in and ordered my hot chocolate, when the guy gave it to me I took out my wallet to get the money out to pay. The guy just smiled and said "No that's ok-don't worry about it!"
Once again, I find it pays to be in a wheelchair!!

I found out that I can get my Xfinity Comcast bill in large print. I didn't know until today that there are choices of braille, large print or regular size.

I am so excited right now. Tomorrow I am seeing Olivia Newton-John, who is a childhood idol of mine. I cannot WAIT! Normally I see a lot of concerts, but seeing Olivia is extra special.
