I had car problems yesterday, I was afraid it might cost me a lot of money to get it fixed when I took it to a mechanic today. I was so happy when I got the bill and it was just $20.

I got off work early yesterday. I love getting off early, it's so rare for that to happen.

I got offered another job, it pays a little more and there is a little more security here, so I am taking it.

I had a woman here today, cleaning my home. She's very nice. She's from Haiti, and has been here for four years. She's studying to be a nurse. She's 29, has an eight year old son. Her ex was abusive, and she spent time in a battered womens' shelter. I knew her life situation within the first hour I met her, lol.

I've never had anyone clean my home before, but it's just too difficult for my husband and I to do it now. The best news is that we don't have to pay for it. It's part of a program to keep seniors and disabled people in their homes. She left a little while ago. She did a fantastic job; fast as lightning. When I was told that the person would clean for three hours a week, I thought that wasn't much, but she blasted through the place.

Next week, she's just going to dust and vacuum, and then cook a dinner from her homeland. She told me what to buy, and said she'll bring the spices from home. She'll cook, join us for dinner, then clean up, lol. My husband said that he's never seen anyone make friends with total strangers the way I do. He then brought up the time I was playing the piano with the cable guy about 15 years ago; that simple duet, Heart and Soul. Nice day today.
