MEDIA MATTERS
Watch MSNBC's hosts duel during angry tirade Joe Scarborough; 'I'm going to be interviewing Marc by myself' Posted: February 12, 2010 11:00 pm Eastern By Drew Zahn © 2010 WorldNetDaily MSNBC analyst Lawrence O'Donnell on Feb. 12 "Morning Joe" Apparently, just the title of former George W. Bush speechwriter Marc Thiessen's new book "Courting Disaster: How the CIA kept America safe and how Barack Obama is inviting the next attack" is infuriating to cable news talk hosts. On this morning's edition of MSNBC's "Morning Joe," co-host Mika Brzezinski introduced interview guest Thiessen by reading his book's title and tossing in a quick comment, "Not sure that's fair…" Her interjection prompted show host Joe Scarborough to exclaim, "Will you let the guy talk? My God!" But she continued, "Inviting the next attack? Are you crazy?" When occasional fill-in host for Keith Olbermann and MSNBC analyst Lawrence O'Donnell was invited to comment, however, he was incensed beyond correction. Learn why the Mainstream Media are dying. Get Joseph Farah's "Stop the Presses: The Inside Story of the New Media Revolution." "You wrote a book that says the president of the United States – on its title – the president is inviting the next attack," said O'Donnell, pointing a finger and growing increasingly accusatory. "Isn't it true that the president you worked for invited the first attack?" O'Donnell continued escalating and pointing a finger until Scarborough implored O'Donnell to stop the tirade and let Thiessen answer the torrent of questions he had unleashed. Nonetheless, O'Donnell continued badgering without pause, over every interruption, until Scarborough cut off the segment, went to break and announced he would conduct the rest of the interview without the other MSNBC personalities. The exchange can be seen in the video below: (Story continues below) "You just admitted," O'Donnell persisted before fellow MSNBC host Scarborough pulled the plug, "that when you were hit on 9-11, you just said, 'We didn't know who hit us.' You said, 'We didn't know who hit us.' You were told who was going to hit you before we were hit on 9-11, and your administration invited the first attack for which you should live in shame." When Thiessen was finally permitted to answer, O'Donnell began talking over him again, demanding he admit blame on the Bush administration. O'Donnell's ranting only continued, and as the show broke into bedlam, Scarborough elevated his lapel microphone to pick up volume and said, "Let's stop. … We're going to break right now. We're going to break right now and we'll be right back, and I'm going to be interviewing Marc [Thiessen] by myself." O'Donnell, who is also an actor on HBO's series "Big Love" and was a producer and writer for "West Wing," has made headlines for out-of-control rants in interviews before. In a 2004 interview of John O'Neill, co-founder of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and coauthor with WND's Jerome Corsi of "Unfit for Command," O'Donnell came unhinged, repeatedly shouting that O'Neill was "a professional liar" and "unfit to publish." A commenter at SwiftVets.com later did a count, discovering that in a 10-minute interview, O'Donnell shouted the words "lie," "lies" or "liar" 46 times. During the more recent presidential campaign, O'Donnell repeatedly talked over Pat Buchanan on "The McLaughlin Group" while discussing Mitt Romney's Mormon "faith of his fathers," which O'Donnell went on to call "racist," "demented," and "based on the work of a lying, fraudulent criminal named Joseph Smith." Even more recently, while filling in as guest host of MSNBC's "The Ed Show," O'Donnell argued, badgered and repeatedly interrupted Peter Schiff, author of "Crash Proof: How to Profit From the Coming Economic Collapse" on the topic of government intervention in health care. Video of the Schiff interview can be seen below: http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=124956 (scroll down for video)

Gosh, I wonder why no one watches MesSNBC?
The other video on that page is really funny, it's about 8 minutes long, but the host, Lawrence O'Donnell, never gives the guest a chance to finish a sentence during the entire time. The guest was Peter Schiff, who predicted (back around 2004) everything that was coming in the financial market collapses, and also predicted how the government would respond, and that the government response (of course) did not work.

He's insane. I saw the above mentioned meltdown as it happened. I tried to find it on youtube. If anyone is good at finding stuff, please grab this. It was on Joe Scarborough's show, who was a conservative back then. Loopy Larry was removed from MSNBC for a while. That's how bad his tirade was, off the wall.

Decent and respectful journalism must have died with Edward R. Murrow. |
