'General Hospital' Villain Joins Cast of Fox's 'Fringe' - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

An actor best known for his turn as a diabolical villain on ABC's "General Hospital" has joined the cast of Fox's "Fringe," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

On the sci-fi drama, Sebastian Roche will play a character on a fact-finding mission from another dimension. Thomas Kretschmann originated the role in an October episode, but could not continue because of scheduling problems.

I still remember his turn as a rock star rapist (named "C Square"!

) on an episode of L&O in the early 90s. That episode contained one of my favorite exchanges of dialogue on that show:

[Briscoe and Logan arrest a rock star]
Manager: We'll sue you for false arrest. We're going to get our lawyers.
Det. Lennie Briscoe: Oh, lawyers. I'm so scared. You hear that, Mike?
Det. Mike Logan: Oh, I'm shaking in my blue suede shoes.

I wish Mr. Roche all the best on Fringe.
