ION TELEVISION TO PROVIDE BROADCAST PREMIERES FOR MULTIPLE BLOCKBUSTER THEATRICAL RELEASES

ION Secures Broadcast Premiere Rights to Award-Winning “March of the Penguins” from Warner Bros. Domestic Television and “The Return,” “Breach” and “ Miami Vice” from NBC Universal

West Palm Beach – October 27, 2009 – ION Television has finalized multiple film agreements that provide the Network with the broadcast premiere rights to four new titles. The agreement with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution (WBDTD) provides ION Television with the broadcast premiere rights to the Academy Award-winning feature film “March of the Penguins.” In addition, ION Television has inked a deal with NBC Universal Domestic Distribution (NBCU) for the broadcast premiere rights to the theatrical releases “The Return,” “Breach” and “ Miami Vice.”

“As part of ION Television’s effort to build its primetime line-up, we also want to regularly offer our viewers top quality movies,” said Leslie Chesloff, Executive Vice President, Programming, for ION Media Networks. “We’re thrilled to be able to offer our viewers the opportunity to watch this diverse line-up of films, particularly “March of the Penguins” – which will be a nice holiday treat.”

The broadcast premieres will roll out beginning the end of this month through December:

In “The Return,” which premieres Saturday, October 31 at 9:00 pm, ET Sarah Michelle Gellar stars as a young woman who, after a car crash when she was 11 years old, has visions of a town she’s never been to and of people she’s never met. She finally decides to go to the town and investigate exactly why she keeps having vivid visions of a murder that took place 15 years earlier. When Joanna's visions start to add up and she puts them together, she realizes who the murderer is and the murderer realizes that she knows who he is as well. Sam Sheppard also stars.

“Breach,” debuting on Sunday, November 1 at 8:30 pm, ET stars Chris Cooper, Laura Linney and Ryan Phillippe. Based on a true story, FBI upstart Eric O'Neill enters into a power game with his boss, Robert Hanssen, an agent who was ultimately convicted of selling secrets to the Soviet Union . The film tells the riveting story of the investigation that brought down the most damaging spy in U.S. history.

“ Miami Vice” will air on broadcast television for the first time on Sunday, November 8 at 8:00 pm, ET. This update of the iconic 1980's TV action/drama stars Colin Farrell as Sonny Crocket and Jamie Foxx as Ricardo Tubbs. When an informer, his family and two FBI agents are killed by an international gang of drug dealers, Crocket and Tubbs are assigned to work undercover for the FBI in a joint operation to disclose which agency leaked the information to the criminals. The intensity of the case pushes Crockett and Tubbs out onto the edge where identity and fabrication become blurred, where cop and player become one.

The acclaimed hit documentary “March of the Penguins” debuts on ION Television on Saturday, December 12 at 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm, ET. Directed by Luc Jacquet, the film is a remarkable look at the annual journey of the Emperor Penguins, as they march to their traditional breeding ground. Situated in the pitiless ice deserts of Antarctica , the most inhospitable terrain on Earth, the film chronicles a truly remarkable journey that takes place as it has done for millennia.

GO AHEAD – MAKE MY DAY!

IT’S ALL CLINT EASTWOOD, ALL THE TIME, ON ION TELEVISION

THANKSGIVING WEEKEND, NOVEMBER 27-29

Network Gives Thanks to Clint With Feastwood Film Event

as it Features Best of Iconic Star

West Palm Beach – November 16, 2009 -- It will be all Clint, all the time on ION Television when the Network launches Feastwood film event during Thanksgiving weekend, Thursday, November 26 through Sunday, November 29. The announcement was made today by Leslie Chesloff, Executive Vice President, Programming, ION Media Networks.

“Thanksgiving weekend for most is packed with meals and activities, so this year ION Television is packed with Feastwood. While Clint supplies the non-stop action on screen, all viewers have to do is kick back and be ‘positively entertained’,” said Chesloff.

ION Television’s themed programming event kicks off with “Pale Rider” (1985), where Clint is a mysterious preacher who comes to a gold mining camp to save the miners from a ruthless landowner who wants their land. But why is the preacher such a good shot? And why is the sheriff afraid of him? Viewers can find out when they tune-in on Friday, November 27 at 6:30 PM, ET when “Pale Rider” airs (encore airing on Saturday, November 28 at 6:00 PM, ET).

For those fans of Dirty Harry, “Magnum Force” (1973) features Clint as Dirty Harry on the trail of vigilante cops who are not above going beyond the law to kill the city's undesirables. Airs on Saturday, November 28 at 3:30 PM, ET.

The Clint-festival moves into high gear with “The Rookie” (1990), when Clint teams up with Charlie Sheen as they play a mismatched veteran cop-rookie cop duo. Airs on Saturday, November 28 at 8:30 PM, ET (encores on Sunday, November 29 at 5:30 PM, ET).

On Sunday, November 28, two additional Clint films will make your day: Clint reprises Dirty Harry in “The Enforcer” (1976) and now he must foil a terrorist organization made up of disgruntled Vietnam veterans. Once again he is mismatched with a rookie partner – and this time it’s a woman. Airs at 3:30 PM, ET. Finally, in “The Outlaw Josey Wales” (1976), Clint is a Missouri farmer who joins a Confederate guerilla unit and winds up on the run from the Union soldiers who murdered his family. “The Outlaw Josey Wales” will air at 8:00 PM, ET.

Default ION Has Strong Week 8 & Record November Sweep to Date

There are more eyes on ION this November Sweep as ION's new line-up is producing ratings dividends for the mininet.

Last week, ION had another strong weekly average:

2009-10 Week 8: ION 0.6HH/1%, 0.30 A18-49, 930,000 P2+ viewers

After 18 nights of the November Sweep, ION is enroute to setting a record for the ION/i era:

2009 November Sweep (18 nights): 0.6HH/1%, 0.29 A18-49, 909,000 A18-49

By way of comparison, here are the ION/i comparatives over the last four November Sweep periods:

2008 November Sweep - ION: 0.4HH/1%, 0.13 A18-49, 611,000 A18-49
2007 November Sweep - ION: 0.4HH/1%, 0.10 A18-49, 570,000 A18-49
2006 November Sweep - i: 0.4HH/1%, 0.13 A18-49, 605,000 A18-49
2005 November Sweep - i: 0.4HH/1%, 0.10 A18-49, 593,000 A18-49

ION's strength this year is coming from time period improvements being registered by 'NCIS' (moved to Thursday), 'Criminal Minds' (Monday to Wednesday) and some big promotable titles that have lifted their 'Big Screen Movies' weekend numbers.

These numbers are almost up to the level where ION might be in a position to entice the wandering eyes of dissatisfied CW/MyTV affiliates or allure longstanding independents to go network.
