Smile 'The Dukes of Hazzard' Sheriff and Deputies: Then And Now!

http://www.foxnews.com/slideshow/ent...azzard?slide=3

James Best had an incredibly successful film and TV career and took on countless roles, portraying a wide range of characters from the 50's through the 70's. However, he is best known for his role as bumbling Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane.

James, now 83, continued to act after the show was canceled, but later moved to Florida to teach at the University of Central Florida. He is currently semi-retired but takes on occasional acting roles. In 2009, completed his autobiography, "Best in Hollywood: The Good, The Bad and The Beautiful" which was just published in August. (20th Century Fox)

Sonny Shroyer played Rosco Coltrane's deputy Enose Strate. He was the friendliest law enforcement official in Hazzard County, but none too bright.

Shroyer, now 74, became a star all his own with his short-lived 1980 spin-off "Enos." Since his "Dukes" days, he has continued to act on TV and in films, with roles in "Forrest Gump," "Paradise Falls," and "Ray."

Rick Hurst played another Hazzard County deputy, Cletus Hogg, often paired with Enos in hair-brained schemes to catch the Duke boys. Cletus and Enos usually wound up in their squad car in the river after losing out in yet another car chase with The General Lee.

Rick Hurst, now 63, continues to act off and on, and is a regular at "Dukes" reunions.

Thumbs up

Thanks so much for sharing the pics, Brian! I LOVE Dukes of Hazzard, and all three gentleman still look great. I still can't believe Sonny Shroyer is 74 - he looks at least 15 years younger. Enos always was my favorite character.

Cool

James, Sonny, and Rick are all looking great. They may have been hapless lawmen on TV but in real life all three seem to great guys.

You are right Mike. Dukes is not the same without Boss Hogg. Sorrell Booke was a wonderful and talented actor who left us way to soon.

Sorrell Booke's tombstone even reads "Beloved Pa, Grandpa, Brother and Boss". He loved the show and character, going to fan events in character - white suit and everything. Plus the man could speak NINE LANGUAGES FLUENTLY!!

Sorrel booke and Denver Pyle created great characters and they are missed. I don't think there should be any more reunion movies. It just isn't the same.

Great pictures Brian. All 3 guys look great. It's too bad that their type of show isn't popular on tv anymore.
