FOL was never good in the ratings, in fact #24 was the best it ever did. Diff'rent Strokes on the other ahnd did extremly well in the ratings, until ABC took it over.

DS didn't fare that much better in the ratings. FOL peaked at #24 in the 3rd and 5th seasons, and DS peaked at #17 in it's 3rd season. But the third season was the only season DS was in the top 25, and it never returned to the top 30 after that season, while Facts stayed around there until Charlotte left.

DS was consistenly rated higher than FOL for kids - for other age groups they were even or FOL was rated higher.

I can definately agree with that. FOL started out a "kids show" the first season, but the series matured as did the girls. I loved both shows as a kid, but now that I'm an adult, I have a new appreciation for The Facts because I've matured a lot and can understand the show better. I liked it as a kid, but a lot of it went over my head. But I always loved Blair, Jo, Tootie, Natalie and Mrs. Garrett from then.

But with Diff'rent Strokes, I always "got" the show more when I was little (save the more controversial episodes). Gary may be a little more than a decade older than me, but at the age of 3, I didn't notice that and almost felt like he was MY age.
