I have a DVR but I think it's stupid of Spike to put the show on that time.

Default 2am

Nice. The 2am -3am timeslot is like a thumb in the eye. It's too late to stay up and watch, and too early to get up and watch.

After buying a new 50" HD TV, I have become acutely aware that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING worth watching over the summer during prime time. I'm resigned to catching the occasional movie on AMC that I've only seen 5-6 times before. I've resorted to watching cable news, which to me is the option of last resort.

That's what makes it so frustrating that a quality program like UM cannot be revived, even for a limited number of special episodes. I no longer look forward to watching TV as I once did.

That's insulting. Forget it, I'm not even turning to the Spike channel. Hope their ratings go further down the toilet.

Wow... that reeks of "we're only broadcasting this because we have to."

I wonder if they just don't like it or if the ratings weren't good or both. In any case, I think I can hear taps playing for the future of UM on Spike.

Not that it shocks me because those idiots screwed it up since day 1.

That's not true, there's Monk, Psych, Burn Notice, Eureka, The Daily Show (reruns of the night before air in prime time), and Warehouse 13.

Anyway back to the topic at hand, it's great to see Unsolved is returning, but massively sucks that it's getting a terrible timeslot. I work the graveyard shift, and on nights when I'm off I don't know if I'll watch it. I will record it to see if there are any good cases on.

Why couldn't A&E get this show, it would have worked much much better with their lineup, and plus Bill Kurtis could have hosted.

I can't not watch it, despite usually fast forwarding through everything. It still amazes me how they just killed the suspense. The only things scary on the spike versions are the fx. I'm still fascinated how they shot the stuff with Farina for HD, but then cut to the old segments that are still 4x3 with black wings.

Zanzibar, I don't have a nice new TV like yours, but I'm equally irritated with the selection of what to watch.

Just paying my satellite bill ticks me off, when I have to spend all that money to see nothing but line ups of infomercials in the online guide. For example, Your Baby Can Read and the Chuck Norris Home Gym are on multiple channels at the same time, all day and night.

I have taken up watching House and Bones reruns in my free time. I even tried out Leverage for the last two episodes, and it seems pretty good. I tried one episode of HawthoRNe, but it's not my thing.

I just don't like dramas or sitcoms or anything like that at all. I'll watch the occasional movie (especially like the classics or silent films), but I keep turning to Cold Case Files, Forensic Files, etc... All those true crime type shows that I have already memorized.

And I've also noticed that they keep running the same movies over and over, when there are so many out there to choose from. It seems like Can't Buy Me Love, Ghostbusters, Freaky Friday, Ice Age, The Devil Wears Prada, Groundhog Day, White Chicks, Catwoman, the Ace Ventura movies, Lethal Weapon movies, Kill Bill movies, Titanic, Home Alone movies, Bruce Almighty, Wedding Crashers, Scary Movie movies, Walking Tall, anything by Tyler Perry, 8 Mile, The Patriot, The Mummy movies, Con Air, Jumanji, Jumping Jack Flash, etc, etc, just get so much screen time that they're not interesting anymore.

I wonder if it'll be the same few episodes they've already shown or "new" ones. Too bad, shame on you, spiketv!

Speaking of Chuck Norris, we ought to summon him for help. Perhaps he could pay the Spike executives a visit and beat the snot out of them until they give us UM again.

Oh, lame. Spike sucks. I have a DVR but I wonder if it'll even be worth it. Are they going to show any more new episodes?

LOL! According to recent reports, America is not a democracy, it's a Chucktatorship. The Spike people would be powerless against him!

Thumbs down

You people are ridiculous. You belly ache that it's not on. That it probably got canceled. Spike puts it back on (yes, at a crummy time slot), and you still complain. I suppose you'd all be happier if it were canceled.

Get a DVR. Or rent a DVR from your cable or satellite company. If you can afford cable, you can afford to rent a DVR. I pay 5 bucks for the ability to record, and it has a big hard drive. And if you can afford $150 a month on "miscellaneous" or "fun" spending, you can afford your own Tivo.

And if you can't afford that, buy a VCR for 30 bucks and a couple of VHS tapes (which are still around) and set it on a timer.

I have a DVR. I work school hours. I'll be setting up my DVR to record this thing again happily. And whoever doesn't watch fine. Just remember not to complain when it gets permanently pulled.
