I'm glad they're keeping Reba. There's nothing else on this network for me though. They need more sitcoms.

I just wish they'd take advantage of having an HD station and actually go HD! For example, weren't the last 2 1/2 seasons of Reba in High Def? I'm asking because a torrent I downloaded of the series about a year ago featured widescreen episodes in 720 P beginning around midway thru season 4.

ION TELEVISION INKS DEAL WITH NBC UNIVERSAL DOMESTIC TELEVISION
DISTRIBUTION FOR MAJOR THEATRICAL FILM PACKAGE A-LIST TITLES INCLUDE “THE BREAK UP,” “ MIAMI VICE” AND “I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK AND LARRY” Additional Deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution Expands Library with Over 30 Additional Titles West Palm Beach – August 17, 2009 - ION Television has acquired over 40 new A-list feature film titles through multiple theatrical film deals with NBC Universal Domestic Distribution (NBCU) and Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution (WBDTD), it was announced today by Leslie Chesloff, Executive Vice President, Programming, ION Media Networks. The newly acquired titles will begin airing later this month and will continue to roll out on ION Television’s schedule throughout the fall and into 2010. “As ION Television continues to build its schedule, these first-rate theatrical features are the perfect complement to our growing line-up of original and acquired series,” said Chesloff. “These proven hits have outstanding appeal and will be particularly popular with our core 25-54 demographic.” The package from NBCU includes over one dozen hit movies including “The Break Up,” starring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn; “Miami Vice,” starring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx and “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry,” starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James. Other titles in the package include the “Back to the Future” trilogy, “Inside Man” and “The Hitcher.” The network has also expanded on its existing agreement with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, bringing its current library to over 100 high profile Warner Bros. films in the ION library. The 30-plus additional films in the new package include the Academy Award® -winning documentary “March of the Penguins,” the award-winning “Troy,” starring Brad Pitt, and “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,” also starring Brad Pitt, Oscar® nominee Casey Affleck and Mary-Louise Parker. Additional titles include “The Matrix Revolutions,” “The Matrix Reloaded,” “GoodFellas,” “Ladder 49,” “City by the Sea” and “Taking Lives.” |

ION TELEVISION TO BREAK GUINNESS WORLD RECORD FOR “WORLD’S LARGEST MOVING BOX” IN TIMES SQUARE ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 20 CONTESTANTS VIE FOR THE CHANCE TO WIN $100,000 TO HELP PAY OFF THEIR MORTGAGE WHEN THEY JUMP INTO THE BOX TO FIND WINNING KEY STUNT TO KICK OFF PREMIERE OF ION TELEVISION’S NEW ORIGINAL SERIES, “ DURHAM COUNTY ”, LAUNCHING ON LABOR DAY, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 New York, NY August 26, 2009 – To kick off the premiere of its original series “Durham County,” ION Television plans to break a Guinness World Record in Times Square for the “World’s Largest Moving Box” and award one lucky contestant $100,000 towards paying off their mortgage on the morning of Thursday, September 3. “ Durham County ,” which launches on Labor Day, Monday, September 7 at 10:00 p.m., stars "Flashpoint's" Hugh Dillon as a policeman who moves his family back to his old neighborhood. However, he soon finds out that his new neighbor is his old boyhood nemesis, and that buried secrets are piling up in this small town. “Just as the family in ION’s new original series makes their big move to Durham County, we wanted to recognize all those folks who are making big moves this year -- refinancing new mortgages, moving to new homes and meeting their new neighbors,” said Eleo Hensleigh, Chief Marketing Officer for ION Media Networks. “To make things more interesting, and to help out the many people who are facing issues, we’re translating the show’s ‘buried secrets’ into a buried treasure in our moving box.” Through an ION Television sponsored radio contest on New York ’s WPLJ, 20 contestants will be selected for the Times Square event, which will kick off at 7:00 a.m. in Times Square’s Military Island between 43rd and 44th streets, where “The World’s Largest Moving Box” will be constructed and filled with biodegradable packing peanuts. “Buried” in the peanuts will be 20 key chains, one of which will unlock the big prize. After the box is approved by the Guinness World’s Record team and judged as “The Largest Moving Box” ever, the 20 contestants will jump into the box and search for the key chains. Once all of the key chains are found, contestants will be ushered to front of the stage. The contestant with the matching number keychain wins the grand prize -- $100,000 towards paying off their mortgage, or buying a new home. |

I watched Durham County - it was pretty good, but really really disturbing. Sick really. Not sure if I will continue to watch. However, didn't NCIS get over a 1.0 in the HH Rating when airing on Mondays (or any day)? |

Yes, NCIS was getting over a 1 on many days on Mondays. If it can pull that on Thursdays (starts tonight) and Mondays can get 0.6 or 0.7 average, then it is plus since Thursdays prior to NCIS was less than 0.6 with movies.

Criminal Minds is doing decent.
Tuesday, September 9 (HH Rating/Share) 8:00PM Ghost Whisperer 0.4/1 9:00PM Criminal Minds 0.9/1 10:00PM Criminal Minds 0.8/1 Wednesday, September 10 (HH Rating/Share) 8:00PM Ghost Whisperer 0.5/1 9:00PM Boston Legal 0.4/1 10:00PM Criminal Minds 0.5/1 Don't have final numbers for ION Thursday yet (Ghost Whisperer, NCIS and another NCIS aired). Effective next week, Boston Legal is now removed in favor of a second Ghost Whisperer on Wednesdays at 9pm now. So Boston Legal will be totally gone. |

It's hard to say what's a "hit" with ION, but NCIS and Criminal Minds seem to have the best numbers.
Ghost Whisperer seems to be up and down between a 0.4 and 0.5 rating. Durham County dropped 0.1 from it's premiere - not bad, I guess. Maybe they should try something like: 7pm Ghost Whisperer 8pm Criminal Minds 9pm NCIS 10pm Durham County (Mon) NCIS (Tue) Criminal Minds (Wed) Ghost Whisperer (Thu) I'm sure it can't help that both NCIS and Criminal Minds are on 5 days a week on USA and A&E, respectfully. |
