We now know subsequent seasons of The Lucy Show are in the works, and I've heard (though not officially) that season 3 of Petticoat Junction is ,too, but have heard nothing on The Beverly Hillbillies. Anybody know anything through the grapevine? |

It seems that what happens with sales of these DVD releases is that with each season release, the sales go down a little from the previous season. Season 1 releases do much better than Season 2 and on down the line. So, if you have series with five or more seasons, there is a bit of a risk involved. I don't know what the sales of TBH have been, but I can't imagine people haven't been buying them.
What needs to happen is something like Shout! taking the lead and releasing all nine seasons (274 episodes) of TBH at once. I really think that would be a hit! They are about to release the entire series of Leave it To Beaver, with 234 episodes. Shout! is doing it. On Amazon, it is retailing for $139 which to me is a steal. In my opinion, they should have been releasing the entire series at once years ago. "I Love Lucy" sold by the season for a 3 or 4 years, then CBS Paramount released the whole series. It seemed to be unnecessary extra cost. Release the whole series at once I say! We don't have that kind of patience! ![]() |
