I would alter the schedule a bit by putting all the more family oriented sitcoms in a morning block and/or shows with lesser of an episode count. I'd keep the shows currently in primetime where they are. 6am - Married with Children 7am - Saved by the Bell 8am - The Fresh Prince 9am - Home Improvement 10am - According to Jim 11am - Yes Dear 12pm - Just Shoot Me 12:30 - House of Payne 1pm - House of Payne 1:30 - Family Guy 2pm - Family Guy 2:30 - My Name is Earl 3pm - The Office 3:30 - The King of Queens 4pm - The King of Queens 4:30 - Everybody Loves Raymond 5pm - Everybody Loves Raymond 5:30 - Everbody Loves Raymond 6pm - Seinfeld 6:30 - Seinfeld 7pm - Friends 7:30 - Friends Everything I listed from 3:30-8 are definitely the sitcoms of the '90s/00's that struck the most of a chord with the audience, and continue to be successful on DVD and syndication. I would've loved if TBS had won the rights to Two and a Half Men and How I Met Your Mother, rather than Lifetime and FX. I'm hoping we see The Big Bang Theory on TBS in the next couple of years! I bet it would start out like "Earl" and "Office" did, only airing twice a week, and go on to be a big hit for the network.

There is no way all their new series would launch before 3pm. Office and Earl would never work in the daytime like that. They seem like 6pm or later type shows. According to Jim was a big buy for them, $300,000 an episode. Wouldn't make sense to just put it at 10am. Don't think they can air Family Guy in the regular schedule.

I would love to see BBT on TBS eventually - it's a perfect fit for the network. The only other network I could see it working on is FX, paired with Two and a Half Men.

I think BBT would do great. I think when it first starts like any other show, it would work well splitting an hour with another (in my opinion, Friends would work well) and not killing it by being run more than once a day! You also can't rule out the networks aimed towards "Geek America" such as G4. I don't know what the situation is there or if that would be remotely possible, but if it is possible, then it is a possibilty, lol...did that make sense? ![]() |

Cool that Home Improvement and everything else is still on. Lot of shows on there that I watch sometimes. I'll have to tape them when I can't see them. Didn't need the movie anyway. More power to them

I bet if it were on FX, it would do well paired with That '70s Show as well! |

More of my shows are coming to the 4PM hour now with Desperate Housewives on Lifetime and According to Jim on TBS, plus M*A*S*H will probably stay there on ION.

That's true. A comedy block of That '70s Show, Two and a Half Men, and Big Bang Theory would be great to see. Maybe FX is the more logical choice. TBS seems to be straying away from the multi-cam shows - they got Jim, but they're definitely putting more attention on The Office, Earl, and Family Guy. |

As long as it's in HD! I can't stand watching How I Met Your Mother on Lifetime, as Time Warner refuses to carry it in HD! I bet thats why its ratings are low. By any chance, would anyone know what year "Big Bang" sells to cable and syndication? Two and a Half Men began in syndication in 2007 as it entered its fifth season, but shows like "Earl" were on TBS after three seasons. Two and a Half Men doesn't even enter cable until 2010. So anyone know? |

I know I'm rambling on, but if FX ever lost the rights, I'd love That '70s Show on Nick @ Nite. If they are leaning towards 90s/00s comedies that teens and adults enjoy, I bet it would be a hit! Now that I think about it, is "Big Bang" too adult for Nick @ Nite? Quite honestly, I think it would work well on there as well! |

Ryan, Viacom (who owns Nick@Nite) already has rights to That '70s Show, it's airing on The N (yes, along with FX and ABC Family). So I wouldn't be surprised if they add it in the future, as they can share.

Good to see that Saved by the Bell and Fresh Prince still have those timeslots. I think they should put Home Improvment from 10-11. Just Shoot Me from 11-12 and then Yes, Dear from 12-1. Keep everything else the same. That random Raymond at 1230 bugs me. Other than that you can't really complain to see a channel add 4 sitcoms and not remove any others. The movie at 10AM was useless anyways, people only watch their movies at nights or on the weekends which will still be there. I think they did a pretty good job just the morning with its choppiness bugs me a bit. Fresh Prince to HI is a much better transition than FP to JSM. Anyways, only other thing I don't like is only 1 Seinfeld but I guess they made up for it with the regular airings at 11. Interesting how now it is Friends with 1 airing but the Thursdays and Seinfeld with 2 eps daily. I guess Friends does better for them and they expect Seinfeld to do well latenight since many local networks like FOX seem to do that too. Last edited by Pavan : 07-30-2009 at 12:38 AM. |

Big Bang Theory is not eligible until fall 2012 for local syndication. Cable will be 3 years after that unless it gets repurposing rights before that. My Name is Earl wasn't in syndication on TBS then. It was repurposed. It starts in syndication THIS fall on locals and cable. This cable syndication stuff the same year it enters local syndication is not traditional and I hate it. It should be locals exclusive first, then it can be shared with cable 3 years later. And as for That '70s Show, it is on FX, ABC Family and The N. And as clj2 said, Viacom owns The N. But Nick at Nite has no plans as of now to borrow it from sister network The N. BUT...TV Land will air it in the future. And as for TBS, I would do this to the schedule: (6:00a) MARRIED... WITH CHILDREN (6:30a) MARRIED... WITH CHILDREN (7:00a) SAVED BY THE BELL (7:30a) SAVED BY THE BELL (8:00a) SAVED BY THE BELL (8:30a) SAVED BY THE BELL (9:00a) FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIR (9:30a) FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIR (10:00a) HOUSE OF PAYNE (10:30a) HOUSE OF PAYNE (11:00a) JUST SHOOT ME! (11:30a) HOME IMPROVEMENT (12:00p) YES, DEAR (12:30p) YES, DEAR (1:00p) HOME IMPROVEMENT (1:30p) EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND (2:00p) KING OF QUEENS, THE (2:30p) KING OF QUEENS, THE (3:00p) ACCORDING TO JIM (3:30p) ACCORDING TO JIM (4:00p) EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND (4:30p) EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND (5:00p) FRIENDS (5:30p) FRIENDS (6:00p) SEINFELD (6:30p) SEINFELD (7:00p) THE OFFICE (7:30p) MY NAME IS EARL House of Payne would work better out of Fresh Prince I think. |
