Default Bewitched - The Complete Eighth & Final Season DVD Review

After a brief 5-month wait, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment twitches us the Eighth & Final Season on DVD! Now we have them all! The final season stars Elizabeth Montgomery, Dick Sargent, David White, and Agnes Moorehead. We also see once again Alice Ghostley as Esmeralda, Maurice Evans as Maurice, Erin Murphy as Tabitha, Bernard Fox as Dr. Bombay and Kasey Rogers as Louise Tate. So join Elizabeth Montgomery in ... Bewitched! (Now the theme music is stuck in your head, isnít it?) The final magic season with the Stephens family! This season, the family takes a tour of Europe, where Samantha's head is in danger after she catches the eye and ire of Henry VIII, and she reveals the Loch Ness Monster is really a former warlock. Esmeralda claims she made the tower in Pisa lean, Darrin is zapped to the top of the Eiffel Tower, Tabitha zaps herself into the Punch and Judy TV show to chastise Punch, Adam begins to show he has powers, plus more magical misadventures for the last time on Morning Glory Circle!

It will be out on July.14th, great review, really enjoyed the incisive info in it.
Really pleased that there are Some nice surprises on it as each episode will have the Liz Intro, Back to Bewitched card & the SG Logo...............the real one .

As well all the episodes are of such excellent audio & video quality & uncut, so that is wonderful news.

Really looking forward to this fine season, can't wait.

Just too bad they are saving all the extras for the complete series set.

I got my set pre-ordered from Amazon Canada. I really don't care if any DVD sets have extras or not. Lots of good episodes in season 8 (I like Serena's Richcraft, Tabitha's First Day Of School, The Seven Year Witch).

I hope very much that i am wrong in this but i think there is almost no chance
that the complete series set will include any vintage extras from the time of Bewitched.

Rather they will throw a few modern of the moment recently created extras like an Erin Murphy tour of the Facade at 1164 MGC, that will not be enough to get me to buy it.

The Extras should be Anything to do with Bewitched outside of the actual episode footage itself,Cast Commercials,ABC Bewitched Promos,Liz Public service announcements.

Bewitched & Elizabeth Montgomery Intros at the start of the show.

The Bewitched Sponsor commercials from Quaker Oats,Chevrolet,Kodak,Clairol,Ban,Bufferin ,Excedrin,Oscar Meyer etc. that ran right after the animated opening & before the end credits,Original Animated Sponsor Openings & end credits with Sponsor logos.

These are the sort of things that should have been a part of the Bewitched Sets, but they were not nor will they be i think in the complete set which i figure to be out around Christmas time.

Vintage Bloopers from the set would be a magical find of course, talk show appearances by Liz on the Merv Griffin Show to promote Sisters at Heart Christmas week 1970, perhaps a rare Robert Montgomery presents from the early 1950's featuring La La Liz would be nice.

I take my time watching this magical show on DVD. I just finished Season 4. I think I'll start watching Season 8 instead of 5 just to see surburban housewife Samantha turned into a bored eyes rolling hippie with the patchwork minis, knee high socks, chokers, flared trousers, no makeup, and long straight hair. It's like looking at a completely different woman from the conservative and nice Season 1 Sam.

I just got my copy from Target. And I am enjoying it. Even though there was some drama behind the scenes that season, they still managed to give us magic and laughter. I admit I had my reservations, but I just got it for the sake of completeness.

It's so nice to have ANOTHER completed series on my shelf.

I really liked her "hippie" transformation during the last few seasons, it was definately a sign of the times. Elizabeth Montogomery really pulled it off because she was very stylish and had a body any model would be jealous of.
