You would think that I would be the strong, independent type. I grew up an only child and was always good at being a loner. But as I've gotten older, I've become more aware of mortality and how much I really don't know about things. Being an old lady all alone in life scares me, and I'm pretty convinced that that is my road in life.

I hear you-same old, same old is getting...old. Haha. This is the first summer where I haven't done anything. I'm doing volunteer work, but it's once a week so it's not a biggie. Last summer I had summer school and I volunteered at the courthouse four out of the five weekdays. I think in a couple of weeks, I might start taking the bus into the city and start volunteering somewhere.

Actually, what you are feeling is pretty normal, Cathy. When I turned 27 I began to become more aware of the passage of time. This only intensified when I turned 30. I don't think people were meant to be alone or to grow old alone. I think we were meant to grow old with someone we love and who loves us. I also sometimes worry about not finding anyone as well. Let me tell you something, I know that you will find someone and will not ever become "an old lady alone".

Aw, I hope you feel better soon as for the part of being alone, I feel pretty much the same way right now - I don't see being with anyone any time soon. It used to really distress me, but I guess I sorta learned to accept it. In 10 years? Maybe, just not now. I always hear about people having relationships and all in their teenage years, but heck, I haven't had that ..... but thinking back I guess I'm better off I never had to deal with getting dumped! It does cross my mind that I'll be really old when I get married sometimes, which makes me feel sort of weird. I mean ... once my family is gone, what if I don't have anybody? <---- That's my biggest fear.

I'm so sorry you are feeling like this. I understand. I fear the same thing...being all alone with no one to love and grow old with. It is a scary thought.

I hope you feel better about things soon and try to remember that things change, you never know what tomorrow will bring...the person of your dreams could show up tomorrow.

Just as with Cathy, I know that you will never have to grow old alone, Billie. You just have way too much going for you.

I'm sorry that your day hasn't been better, Kim. You will, of course, be in my thoughts and prayers.
