Princess Diana was terrible shock. I never thought her death would happen till she got a lot older.

I love John Larroquette.

And Harry Anderson too.

Antenna TV, MeTV, Decades, and Cozi TV, please add Dave's World and The John Larroquette Show to your lineups. Thank you.

I was stunned when Princess Diana died. She was the mother of future king, exwife of a future king and I felt she should have been forced to have protection. Hard to think it has been 20 years since she died.

At the time it happened, John Lennon.
Then decades later, it seemed George Harrison's death had a greater impact.
It can depend on how much time goes by after one celebrity's death already shocked you. Also after you get used to the fact decades later, you can forget how much it did shock you.
Right now a lot of the celebrities that Baby Boomers grew up with in the 1960s and 1970s are in their later years. Glen Campbell recently died. So did David Bowie, and Prince.

It seems that Sinead O'Connor may be next soon even though it is because she is reportedly suffering from suicidal tendencies .
Loretta Lynn has been hanging on for a long time even though she has dealt with illness wrought by old age.
Helen Reddy reportedly was placed in a nursing home because of dementia.
Kenny Rogers reportedly isn't feeling well due to older age. Also Julie Andrews can't sing anymore, Linda Ronstadt, Bridget Bardot, and some others who we may soon find ourselves being shocked about

Don Grady from My Three Sons
Erin Moran from Happy Days

I remember hearing of the deaths of Elvis Presley and John Lennon very well, but my being only ages 12 and 16 at those times, I did not feel "hit" so hard. A couple of years later, the untimely death of Karen Carpenter troubled me more.

Carrie Fisher last December. Princess Leia is one of my favorite Star Wars characters. Leia's tough, funny, smart, vivacious, isn't afraid of the bad guys, but can be vulnerable too, caring, and strong. Star Wars will never be the same without Carrie Fisher. Such a pity she couldn't stop doing drugs.

Tom Petty's death hit me hard because it was a complete and utter shock. I was just letting the news about the shootings in Las Vegas sink in when I heard about Tom and that was devastating.
