What a great way to put it. He was an odd poerson, of course, but he was different. He wasn't normal. he didn't lead a normal life or childhood like he may have wanted. While we all probably made fun of Michael Jackson in the past, we can say with confidence that his music and is legend will live on forever.

AMEN!! I always preferred Off the Wall to Thriller, but I may be biased because OTW debuted the same year I did - 1979!!

Off The Wall and Thriller were both great albums (I still have both of them in my basement and play them from time to time). And the success both albums achieved is amazing.

Yeah, I have them both (plus Bad) on my iPod - not to mention a lot of the music he did with his brothers.

i've always found the jackson 5's music obnoxious (and always will, haha), but they just played part of one of their videos on the news and it made me really emotional. he was truly born to sing. i'm getting teary-eyed as i type. this is so shocking.

I have many Michael Jackson songs on my iPod. I still enjoy listening to his music, and I always will. Like I said, his personal life will never change the fact that he put out some of the greatest music ever.

They're playing his videos all over the news. This is a story that we are going to be seeing for many days to come.

Very very sad news, He was an amazing talent and will be missed. Kinda weird I was singing along to Dirty Diana and Billie Jean on my way home today then I got home and learned he died. I'm in shock. So so very sad. I was born in 1990 so I missed alot of stuff but I'm still a big fan.

I can't help but feel a sense of true sadness and tragedy on hearing of this. For all his success, Jackson never seems to have been truly at peace with himself. He always seemed like a gentle human being at odds with the inherent brutality of the real world.

RIP Michael!

I can't believe it. It feels like a nightmare. But I've pinched my arm three times, and I didn't wake up, so it's not just a bad dream.

I've loved him for fourteen years, and my sister and I were going to see him in London in a month. This can't be happening! I've been dreading this day for years and years, and now it has come.
