Well, I bet there is a South Carolina Governor who is happy that the spotlight is off him now from his rendezvous.

I am so shocked and saddened. This just came out of nowhere so totally unexpected. A great talent, and 80s icon, and a creative wonder who had a sad life and upbringing. It was too soon for him to go....

and yet surely, the shock of his death reminds me of the world's reaction when princess diana died in 1997, and so we may see comparisons to that as jacko fans grieve. they will miss him a lot.

True, that's the time I got home and turned the TV on, and that was the first thing I saw.

Does it even matter when/time they reported it?

...What the freaking heck. I heard about him being rushed to the hospital earlier, so I knew it wouldn't end good. Damn, such an untimely death. And today of all days as well, when Farrah Fawcett passes away.

RIP Michael. You were the King of Pop. I'll never forget Beat It and Thriller, and how I tried to learn the dance moves for Thriller, but failed.

This is such a sudden passing, but his music will live on.

There was also that very famous Iowa football coach, I can't remember his name at the moment, who was shot earlier in the week. This has been a terrible week, no doubt.

I was flipping channels earlier tonight to see if they were talking about Farrah on the news channels and all I saw was "Michael Jackson is dead". This is such a huge shock. I can't say I was ever a huge Michael Jackson fan, but I liked some of his early stuff, before all the craziness. Unbelievable! R.I.P. Michael.

this is the first celebrity death that i've ever been really shocked and saddened by. i always lightly made fun of MJ, but it was done affectionately because his oddities made him interesting. he really grew on me. i thought he still had a lot ahead of him, but that was still a very successful career he had. RIP.

As far as the governor, I am not gonna comment on how that idiot selfishly spent government funds to go see his mistress...trifling dog. As far as Michael goes, I was in the bathtroom when I heard the news I did not like the tone of the CW11 reporter when he mentioned Michael Jackson's name because it was sounding almost as though he was about to say that he was going to say that Michael died....low and behold I instincts were right. Once I heard, I went rushing out of the bathroom and was like "what??!" Then it was said by CNN that he was in a coma while other stations/networks reported that he was dead. What a shocker! First Ed, then Farrah, then Michael. I with nothing but the best for the families of all three celebrities.
