ABC will have a special on Jackson tonight at 9PM ET/PT, followed by the previously announced Farrah Fawcett special (slated to air before she had passed) at 10PM ET/PT.

No doubt about this. One heart attack and dead hours later. What a sad, terrible day - Michael Jackson was the prince of pop. News stations are going to be covering his death for weeks, I guarantee.

WOW. I am in complete shock. This one unlike Ed McMahon and Farrah Fawcett has come completely out of nowhere.

What a terrible week in celebrity deaths.

i agree, though farrah's death was no less tragic it was not shocking as it was sadly expected. this will overshadow her death because of the suddeness and unexpectedness

no doubt about that. i don't think we have seen the last of this story- if anything his death will run in the press and media in the next 2 months at least. it's awful although i am baffled as to how someone like him can die of a heart attack. weren't there reports that he was supposed to see a doctor or a shrink and get help? why if anything didn't he seek help for this problems?

I am very shocked. I didn't even know anything was happening until I saw this thread. I remember waching Michael Jackson when he was a young member of the Jackson 5. That's how I want to remember him. Such a talent. R.I.P Michael.

NBC is already having a minispecial on him on the Nightly News right now. Glad to see ABC will be having 2 back to back specials tonight for both of these great talents.

Like a shot to the heart; I can't remember a time before Michael Jackson. I saw a photo of him in a tabloid in a wheelchair and he didn't look too good, but I thought it was just Michael being Michael. God bless him. I hope he found peace.

This is going to be like when Elvis died probably. It went on for weeks, months, it still really hasn't ended.
