I just thought of this - what happens to the Beatles' catalog now?

Michael had already sold most of it to pay off his debts, I believe.

It will most likely go to his 3 children.

I heard about this while I was at my job--I was shocked to the core....this is a MAJOR one...I think people will remember where they were when they heard the news....like they did for Elvis, John Lennon, Princess Diana, etc.

I have to agree. The death of Michael Jackson is huge. 50 years old, and dead of pretty much unknown causes, yet he was healthy days before. It's shocking, it's almost hard to believe. This is one we'll definitely remember.

I can't help but think of his kids, as they're all so young. How sad.

i was just at the store and fighting tears the whole time over this...i've never cried over a celebrity's death before. you never know what you have until you lose it.

i just remembered that maybe two or three nights ago, i was reading about the death of john lennon and i wondered what the sudden death of such a huge legend must be like, since i haven't been alive for any of them before now. this is it, i guess.

I took my first steps while one of his cd's played in the background. I grew up with Michael.

It wasn't unknown causes, it was a Heart Attack. Still, this is very sad.

Rest in peace, Michael

They're saying, though, that it might have been more than that, still unknown. But, you're absolutely right.

I grew up with Michael as well. I got Off the Wall for my birthday when I was 13 years old. I got Thriller a few years later. They were among the first albums I ever owned, and I still have them. Michael is a great artist, and hopefully that's what he'll be remembered for.

I am so shocked and saddened over this news I grew up with Michael Jackson! I can remember his songs playing on VH1 back in the day (the 80's) and it's such a huge part of my childhood. Such a talent. I love his music.

R.I.P., Michael
