"I've been a Conservative since age three, I think.
I was never afraid to speak my mind.
But I do remember many times on a set
when I would hear my Liberal friends talking
and I did not speak out.
I stepped back and did not comment.
Because there is a stigma (in Hollywood)
that if you talk (as a Conservative or Republican),
you don't work."

[ "Scott Baio, Reagan Republican" by Ann Marie Murrell,
The Reagan Report: May 5, 2011 ]

"Being a Republican in Tinseltown can be intimidating.
However, I don't feel that I'm part of a very small minority
in Hollywood because it's not as small as you think it is.
The people who believe what I believe are much quieter about it.
I think it's because it's who we are as people.
We (Hollywood Republicans) are less vocal about what we believe and think.
People can think what they want to think. I don't go after people.
I think most people I talk to, like me (as a Hollywood Republican),
are very quiet and keep to themselves. They just maintain their own lives
and I think that's one of our attributes."

[ "Scott Baio On Attending Ronald Reagan's Funeral,
Being GOP In Hollywood, And Troubled Former Co-Star Erin Moran"

"I'm sort of known to be a Republican, but I vote for who I believe in.
Unfortunately in this industry, if you're anything but a Democrat,
you cannot publicly admit it."
( Shannen Doherty, actress )

"Why are so many Hollywood celebrities liberal?
Because if you're not, you are going to be alienated."
( Mario Lopez, actor )

INTERVIEWER:
"It's a shame that the Sundance Film Festival folks could not make room for your independent movie 'Black Cloud'."

RICK SCHRODER:
"They would not return my phonecalls. I found out later that it (Sundance) is a political beast."
