You should ask her if she wants to go to lunch or something.

valerie is very friendly and warm and caring but she also likes to keep things professional. i gave her a present on bosses day in september and though she was flattered and touched she said she couldn't accept it which i understood. its just a conflict of interest type thing. she can't really fraternize with the people who work under her.

this happened at walgreens once when i worked there. one of the assistant managers was the same age as some of the clerks and cashiers and sometmes he'd go to the local dennys with us after work. when the bosses from corporate found out he was promptly fired.

but i think once she leaves (i have a feeling she won't come back when she goes on maternity) she won't have a problem with socializing.

During the summer of 1996 a few of my fellow Target co-workers and I used to go to Dennys after work almost every night. During the summer of 1997, it was Applebees. Great memories. You know about my college best friend, Jason, he was one of the people I went to Applebees with every night after work. That was such a great time. Just writing about it puts a smile on my face.

Talking

I feel good seeing all the appreciation threads that have been started on Chit Chat tonight. I've been touched all night reading them, and hearing all the nice things that have been said about some very deserving people. Alot of times threads like these become popularity contests, but it's obvious that that's not the case with these. These are just threads honoring some good people who truly deserve it, and it's made my heart feel really good tonight.

I did some text messaging with Kim and Billie today. This is the first I've chated with a SO member offline and it was really cool. At some point I would really like to talk with those two ladies on the phone. And maybe even some other SO people.

I actually sent you a text tonight to tell you that Mattie was back. Talking on the phone could be really cool!

Hey, thanks Mike! It's cool to hear you guys are texting. It's kind of the same thing as messaging... I think it would be super-cool to talk on the phone though!
