I just got through watching an excellent TCM documentary on Martin Scorsese, one of my heros.

I gave in and turned mine on last week. I hate the electric bill, but the heat was getting to be too much. I was glad to have it on yesterday and today when the temps were in the mid to upper 90s. Yuck!

Glad you're nice and cool now Mike!

Thanks, B. We had to actually turn it on because the heat was starting to really bother Bugle and the cats.

That was very nice of him. From the things you post about Marv, he comes across as a really cool guy. I also respect that he served his country in Vietnam. True, it was a war that should never have taken place, but the young men who went over there and put their lives in danger deserve respect for serving their country.

i appreciate you sayiing that mike. its a round about way how he got to vietnam. his father was a violent drunk and by the time marv turned 17 they were getting into physical altercations with each other because marv would defend his mother when his father was beating her. so he enlisted to get away otherwise one of them would have literally killed the other, they could not live in the same house together. he was sent to germany for what was supposed to be 3 years but after a year he got homesick (by then his parents had divorced). the army agreed to give him a month long furlough back to the states if he agreed to do duty in vietnam so thats how he got there. he was there for a year and came back when he was 19 or 20.

That's such a sad story. It is great that he stood up for his mother though.
