Default 8 Simple Rules - The Complete Second Season DVD Review

After nearly two years, the second season of 8 Simple Rules is coming to DVD! The series is now being released by Lionsgate in association with ABC Studios. This was an emotional and hard season. The season starts off well with Paul (John Ritter) dealing with his family (Katey Sagal, Kaley Cuoco, Amy Davidson, and Martin Spanjers), but the tragedy strikes by fourth episode with the untimely death of Paul Hennessy. In real-life, John Ritter passed away as well, and it shocked the entire world. He is still deeply missed and many still canít believe it after nearly 6 years. Joining the cast this season are James Garner and David Spade to help Cate cope with the loss of Paul. Now she finds herself laying down the rules to keep with three teenagers on her own.

All 24 half-hours second season episodes are on this 3-disc set, including the three episodes with John Ritter. This is for you John.

It is very disappointing that there are no extras, and that the introductions to the final 3 episodes have been removed.

I know many people would be on the fence about buying this season, and especially next, and putting no features on them is likely to make even more people think twice about buying this. I do hope it sells well so we can get all episodes, but Lionsgate should have tried a lot harder (as should BV when they had it). I don't get it, "Hope and Faith" gets 4 discs and lots of features, this gets nothing.

So glad that I kept my original ABC airings with the intros and certainly will be keeping them since they are now collectible!

So much for the box art saying it is the complete second season, when intros are missing it isn't complete!
