Default Hey There Other Room 222 Fans

1. Anyone want to discuss an ep from Season #1. If you do just pick it. I love discussing eps but don't know where to start - and since I have all of S#1 discussing any of them works for me at least

2. I know you can't be a control freak abt stuff like this BUT I personally think it would so great to see this bd "hum" a little bit like other show bds. - so anyone who wants to post something abt the show it would be so cool.

I'm gonna start a Wrong Answer game thread and if it lies there flat - oh well - then at least I tried. Hope it doesn't though...

I always loved this show and was thrilled when it was announced it was coming out, never thought it would and I got it for the original amazon mistake price of $10.99, which again I still can't believe...anyway the point of my post is I really fell in love with this series all over again, not seeing many episodes for the past 25 years, its like watching a brand new series, I don't mind the not remastered quality at all, so far I'm just ending disc 2 and wanted to point out that I found the quality on "Our Teacher Is Obsolete" first episode disc 2 to be outstanding compared to the rest, funny how the colors were so vibrant right from the opening credits compared to the rest...check it out to see what I mean...I really hope Shout continues with this one, but I have my doubts for some reason, I did see an ad with a bunch of other shout titles in Entertainment Weekly the week room 222 came out, so at least there was some advertising......also Lloyd Haines is a brillant actor and was such a shame he lost his life to cancer at such an early age.

The very last episode on my set (the one where Pete and Mr Kaufman have a disagreement because there are too many students in Pete's class) is from a cleaner print so it looks more vibrant than the others which are faded. I don't mind it so much - the faded quality gives it a sort of charm.

There are no weak episodes in this season IMO. Especially good are the one where Pete pays the students to read, the ones centering on Jason and the one with Ron Rivkin as the boring guy Ralph. I was also very pleasantly surprised by Anne Morgan Guilbert and William Schallert in the episode with the student who had his own opinions. This was the best acting I had ever seen Guilbert do. Quite a few actors were exceptionally good here: the writing gave them something extraordinary to work with. I was also surprised to see such a young Eric Laneuville.

One final note: funny that most of the actors who played students didn't go on to bigger fame. Laneuville was really the only one. Heshimu, Judy Strangis, Ta-Tanisha, David Joliffe all apexed with this show. Pandrant Netherly died in the 80s.

I noticed the actors who played Pam and Bernie on Room 222 appear as students on The Partridge Family.
