What is the obsession here with the facts of life? i mean i used to watch it when i was a kid but there are so many better sitcoms around. I'm not trying to be rude or anything but it's like i'm on the facts of life homepage lol. does anyone like any of the new sitcoms?

Because "The Facts of Life" is, and was a great show!

As for new shows, with the exception of the CBS monday night line-up, and ABC's "Spin City", they simply arent good enough. When I want to watch quality television I turn to Nick at Nite and TV Land, when I just want to kill a half an hour I watch new stuff. Simple as that!

Stanley Roper: I'm sorry Jack

Jack Tripper: Oh, thats ok, what did you do?

Roper: Me? Nothing, I just thought I saw something that wasnt normal, because it was normal, but, now I can see it aint normal, so, everything's back to normal again.

Jack: oh, well, I'm glad for you.

I hate very much all the new sitcoms (sorry)
Any new stuff i watch would be the news,a movie or a variety/music program.
I love sitcoms from the 50s thru 80s only.

Well, I think the 'facts' is a good, great even, show. And yes, I think there are better MADE shows, but it's still a FAVORITE over those emmy winning sitcoms(All in the Family, Seinfeld, MASH, Cheers, etc). The reason it's so popular now is that the comedy and story lines are still relatable, and it's one of those shows, that despite how much you 'hate' it, you can still enjoy an episode or two. The Facts of Life is just fun entertainment, and nothing can beat that.

I used to watch it all the time with my best friend in high school--she was absolutely *nuts* about that show!

well to me the 80's will always rule supreme when it comes to television,... but the nintes have had a few great comides.. ie- cybill, Absolutly faboulous, murphy brown ( although it did start in the eighties.).. and of course there's always Ally McBEal

Well I can't stand Facts of Life and I know some others on here who can't so theres some people who don't like it I guess. I agree with the only liking 50's - 80's sitcoms statement though.

I'll say it. I hate The Facts of Life. It was lame and childish.

I couldn't agree more. I can think of at least 30 sitcoms off the top of my head that are far better than FOL. I will never be able to understand peoples obsession with FOL and I will never be able to understand peoples obsession with Nancy Mckeon. I don't get it and I don't wanna get it.
