Question Susan Boyle vs Shaheen Jafargholi

http://watching-tv.ew.com/2009/04/susan-boyle-sha.h

Here's Susan Boyle's competition... and he's 12 year-old Shaheen Jafargholi

It looks like Susan Boyle's got competition as Britain's new singing sensation. WalesOnline is reporting that last night, a 12 year-old boy named Shaheen Jafargholi, who is said to have "blown away" the judges on Britain's Got Talent with his performance of a Michael Jackson song, "Who's Loving You." The boy from Mount Pleasant, Swansea, sang a rich, gospel-inflected version of the song. An interesting moment occurs early on in this clip, as judge Simon Cowell stops Jafargholi's initial song-choice and asks him if he's got something better to sing. He does.

Susan Boyle. They were both great, but I love underdog stories. They were all looking at her like she was nuts just because she's not great looking and was kind of goofy, and I wanted to punch a few people in the audience's faces, but she showed them. Even Simon looked like a little kid who saw DisneyWorld for the first time. Love it.

SUSAN!!!

Both are great, both are "underdogs", but Susan's voice has to be one of, if not THE best female voice I've ever heard. She has perfect pitch. Also, she's much older and doesn't have the chances the boy still does ahead of him.

I want Susan Boyle to win it all the way!!!

agreed. Susan's performance was seriously AMAZING. not just her singing which was great, but the way she completely shocked everyone and put everyone's shallowness to shame. it was a pretty amazing thing.

I voted for Shaheen (even tho Susan is closer to my age) because he put more energy - more power - into his song than Susan did. Both are terrific singers and deserve their shot at fame - Susan on the Broadway (or London) stage and Shaheen in a recording studio with Beyonce.

Wow, the 12-year-old boy was good.

Here's another child who impressed Simon.

it's kind of hard to compare. i like susan's voice better but if their ages were to weigh in, i'd say shaheen has more talent just because it's normally damn near impossible to develop such strong resonation by age 12, while susan has had decades to prepare. i'd prefer susan to win the competition. she deserves to shine and it can be hard to find singing opportunities where either there isn't a maximum age limit or you can even be taken seriously despite being middle aged. the kid has a world of other opportunities ahead of him, not only because he's so young but because his skill is already so far beyond his years.
